Subject: DON'T DELETE - log in problem
From: GUEST,Lox (unable to log in)
Date: 02 Oct 08 - 06:58 AM

Bit of a paradox here,

I can post as a guest, but when I try to log in I get a blank screen, with only the number of messages displayed at the top of the screen.

I have deleted and reset my cookie without effect.

Any ideas?

Sorry - I'm not being very clear.

When I log in I am unable to access the website, but when I post as a guest I have no trouble.

BTW, I can't access the help forum either hence my posting here.

Several people have been getting this message:
logout license file is not valid. Please place the original license file.
I haven't seen this error message before. I've contacted Max and asked for advice. Anybody else have an idea for a solution?
-Joe-

In the Cat Hates Fox thread, Paul Burke says his problem is fixed. Does that apply to the rest of you? If you're still having problems, post here.

I had the problem earlier this morning(with Safari), but it's been cleared up for a while.

A few of us who posted on The Annex were getting the problem where all we could see was the top bit of the screen, with a mini drop-down menu. I never thought of logging out to access Mudcat, I just went away & did other things!

It is working fine now. Seems to have sorted itself.

I'm in now, (obviously), but until now, when I came onto the site, All I got was "Mudcat" the # of pm's, and the quick link box with the weird message. I didn't try to log out and enter as a guest. I guess whatever the problem was is fixed now.

Joe

Got that message for a few hours today. Only Mudcat banner displayed (and the usual message about waiting messages - so it was seeing my cookie, anyway?)

Regards

I can 'get in' to view etc but when I try to check my MPs all I get is the 'you have to be a member', despite logging on with my correct password. Any ideas [I'm only semi-computor literate. Ron

Got that same message, using internet explorer.

Then it was fixed.

All is now well in "sunny" (I wish) Yorkshire. It's amazing how much housework I've got done :)

I sent Max an "all clear" message. If anybody is still having problems, please let me know - but I'm off to downtown Baltimore to look at the train museum now.

I got in touch with Max a bit after 8 AM Mudcat time. I don't know whether I told him something he didn't know or he was already working on it, but everything got back to normal shortly after.

'Cat goes down so seldom these days that it was really alarming!

Baltimore (as in "Good Morning...")?? Since when? Have you deserted sunny Cal or simply on your hols?

Bonnie (who is just jealous, stuck @ work)

Well Joe, if you like trains, and if you're ever in the UK, I'm within whistle distance of at least 6 preserved railways, plus a tram (streetcar?) working museum.

I gave up on my cookies years ago. My computer's original anti virus deleted all cookies, even now after instaling Norton cookies don't survive.
