Don, first you figure the gallons of water that the pool holds. (Don't ask ME how....). Then since each gallon has 16 cups, you add 2 packs of Jell-O for every gallon.....I think you may need your credit card (Or Bert's) to buy the Jell-O.

Lime is generally the Preferred Flavour, but any will do. I'm partial to Strawberry Banana myself.

The volume of a cube or rectangular bin would be h x w x d (a bin 3 feet on a side would hold 3 x 3 x 3 cubic feet, or 27 cu. ft.

The volume of a cylinder is 3.14159265...heck, just us 3.14 x the radius squared x the height. So a cylinder 2 feet high and 1 foot in radius would 3.14 x 1 (1 squared is still 1) x 2, or 6.28 cubic feet.

You can work out anything else with these formulae.

Don, my personal pool-tools color scheme is lime green and aqua blue. They make lovely reflections in a blue pool..... Some purple couldn't hurt, too. I think a nice deep Jello Parfait in those colors could be marbelized by Aquarunning legs if we hop in before it's fully set. And then people can supply their own whipped or cream topping to have with the goo that will slide off them when they hop out.

But I don't think Mudcat HAS any cherries. :~) If you get my drift, winkwink.

I knew a guy who got the first big job in his life and went out and bought a new Volvo to match his elevated status and position. Jim really couldn't afford one at that point but he had to have it he thought so he bought one the dealer was more than willing to cut a deal on just to unload it. It was that same aqua color and its never looked good on a car but what the hell......The dealer couldn't sell it and for Jim the Volvo name (and a healthy discount) easily overcame all things.

Turned out to be a good thing after all because he met his future wife, Cathy, one evening in the parking lot of their office building. He found out later she was parking close to him and trying to figure out how to meet him. Jim was pretty impressed with himself thinking his good looks and good job had won him fair maiden. Alas, it wasn't so.

One night after they had been married a few months Jim suggested trading up to a more dignified looking Volvo or possibly a BMW but Cathy wouldn't hear of it. She said it was the car that brought them together and she wanted him to keep it. Jim asked her what the car had to do with it and she replied, "There's something about an aqua Volvo man."

A by the by: in Juneau a number of local buildings and places are known by descriptive names.

For instance, a 70-acre parcel of mine tailings shored up by retaining walls where a number of oil tanks and industrial buildings are installed is known as "the rock dump".

The Department of Labor building that has an unfortunate siding is called "the Plywood Palace".

A silver-sided tall building with recurrent red lateral stripes is known as "the Spam Can".

The State Office Building is - you guessed it - "the S.O.B."

Ah... yes... naming buildings...

London has 'the pile of plates' or the Mayor of London's office on the south bank.

Then there's the Gherkin - the Swiss Re building, which also got the unfortunate epithet of the 'glass dildo' from its' not so vaguely phallic shape.

The 'Inside out' building is the Lloyds building and 'the harmonica' is Centre Point - a tower block at the end of Oxford Street/Tottenham Court Road that looks like a mouth organ put on end.

I'm not doing the insect squashing any more.. I have made other arrangements. So far, the cat approves.
