Frank Hennessy has generated so much interest with his appearance on Wednesday, October 8 that Llantrisant Folk Club has moved down to the Windsor restaurant just to accomodate some more bodies!

For those of you who are unlucky enough not to pick up Frank's marvellous Celtic Heartbeat, broadcast on Radio Wales, here's some information: He is a radio presenter and BBC-Wales TV personality, songwriter and musician with The Hennessys and compere. Among his compositions are Farewell To The Rhondda, Tiger Bay, Cardiff Born, Cardiff Bred, Hearts On Fire and his latest 'hit', Always Beautiful, a love song to Frank's home city of Cardiff.

Be there at The Windsor Hotel, Llantrisant Road, Pontyclun at 8.30pm - you won't regret it!

£5 for non-members, £3 for members - an absolute bargain! Pat and Ned are not doing tickets, so come early.

A "stonking" night? Sorry to be ignorant of the beauty and the richness of Valleys slang, but what, pray, is "stonking"?

We'll be there in spirit at least but as we're trying to get the artwork finished for my new album by Thursday much will depend on what progress has been made by then!
If we're not there, raise a cheer for us!

Anne

It is wonderful to read that old Frank is "back in town" so to speak. Had he not been performing in public of late? BTW Is the guest poster called Paul Powell the man who used to play a four strung-five string banjo with Dave and Frank ? and who sang ONLY "Waitin'for a Train"?

Frank's show is really great - and he has played my friend, David Llwellyn's great song, Take Us Down, about the miners -
Take Us Down
In fact, David will be on with Frank in the middle of the month.
And even better, my wife and I will be in Wales - for the first time - 10/15-30. We're staying in Dolgellau and Conwy. Sure wish Frank was doing a gig in that area!
Can anyone recommend other gigs in North Wales for that period, or let me know of web sites to check?
Hoping that there will be a session at Ty Siamas that we can attend, although the Dafydd Iwan concert there is sold out.
Diolch yn fawr, Chris
