Next Wednesday, October 15 2008, there will be a CD release concert for my new CD, "The Oldest Was Born First", at the University at Buffalo's Allen Hall Theatre in Buffalo NY, at 8:00pm eastern standard time.

I will be joined by at least four of the musicians who helped me record the CD, which features traditional music of New York State.

The concert will be broadcast on the air here in Buffalo on WBFO 88.7FM, and will be available all over the world on the internet right here: Listen to the Webcast LIVE on 10/15, 8pm est (choose one of the first two options under "WBFO 88.7", not "On The Border").

I hope you will join me from wherever you are with a mug of something cold (or warm) to sing on some choruses and join in the fun! Throw popcorn if you like!

I bought a copy of the CD from Dick Greenhaus/CAMSCO at the Getaway, and I like it very much. Nice piece of work, Dave! Best of luck with it.

Invite folks to come out and then stay for the debate. You'd get a crowd then.

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert, Dave. Where did the audience come from? They sounded really excited and supportive. How many CDs did you sell?

Mary and Brian, the audience was brought in directly from a college football game, hence their boisterousness. I asked them Brian, and for a price, they will travel to my other gigs :)

No, they were a real mix of some of my old and newer friends, some family, some kids (and their parents) who go to school with my kids, and then a good number of people I didn't know. It was a very lively hall, and I think they were encouraged by the emcee to whoop it up a bit between songs. They did. If it seemed disproportionate to what I was putting out, I felt the same way, but of course loved every minute of it. To answer your question Mary, a few dozen CDs went out to new homes last night.
