Subject: RE: 13 Free - Count'em - 13 Free From: katlaughing Date: 11 Oct 08 - 11:45 PM I know Night Owl would give them a very good and appreciative home, but she isn't online much right now. She lost her entire collection and the rest of her household and house to a fire a few years ago and has slowly been gathering replacements. I am pretty sure she'd say yes, but I'll have to check with her on how to get postage to you. I'll try to reach her, later tonight, or tomorrow. Don't hold on if ya get a better offer, though.:-) Thanks, kat |
Subject: 13 Free - Count'em - 13 Free From: John on the Sunset Coast Date: 11 Oct 08 - 08:04 PM I just finished straightening out my collection of folk music...I was having a hard time finding stuff. Lo! and Behold! I found I hand some duplicate records (actually I knew I had some duplicates) that I wish to dispose of. All are from the '50s and '60s (mostly) and well used, except one still in its cellophane wrapper. To wit they are: The Kingston Trio - Stereo Concert (ca 1958) Travis Edmonson - Travelin' With Travis Bob Dylan - John Wesley Harding Oranim Zabar - A Town Hall Concert (1961) Translation booklet missing Martha Sclamme - Says Kissin's No Sin (ca 1962/3) Joan Baez - Joan (1967) Winifred Smith - Folk Songs of the South (still sealed) Ian & Sylvia - Play One More Joe and Eddie - Coast to Coast (ca 1964) Clancys & Tommy Makem - A Spontaneous Performance (Their 1st Columbia LP?) Harry Belafonte - Mark Twain & Other Folk Favorites (1954) Bud Dashiell & the Kinsmen - Folk Music in a Contemporary Manner Oscar Brand - Out of the Blue Most are very listenable, a few have more ticky-pops than I like, hence they've been replaced. I'm guessing about half of these are not available on CD, 'tho I haven't checked. Some have good sleeves, some not...but they all have liner notes...I note Mort Sahl, Leonard Feather, Joan and Martha. Ya don't much get those on CDs. Anyway, enough of a sales pitch! These can be yours for just the cost of postage or shipping (US only) by whatever means you choose, if it is convenient to me. A donation to Max might be nice too...up to you. I request that you take them all, as I'm not in the record business and don't want to keep going to P.O. or Fed Ex for onesys-twoseys, but I can be a teensy flexible if you're nice. This offer is good only for registered 'Cats. PM me if you're interested. Preference to conservatives, but I can cross ideological lines on this, thereby promoting amity and good will. The Very Generous JotSC |
