Come to a great night of 'almost' acoustic music.
Friday the 24th October at Caistor Sports and Social Club which is gaining an excellent reputation for presenting a wide variety of good quality live music acts.

Four acts, a varied programme of different styles from Helian Keys/Mark Campbell/Pint and a Half/Paul Pearson and Chris Treebeard.
Almost acoustic because there is PA but just enough to hear all four acts clearly!
Doors open at 730pm and it is £3 (£2 for members).

PM me on here, or email Rockhenpf@aol.com or contact Neil at 07850 326527 for tickets or more info.
Hope to see a few mudcatters there!
Helen x

Mark has been playing quite a bit in town and is well worth hearing as always.

Glad he changed his mind about retiring from playing.
I am sure he will be blushing at such heartfelt accolades from his freinds and will be a great headline guest.

whooops!Forgot to add that Hellian Keys are great with a mix of original and covers as are Paul and Chris Treebeard.
Not aware of Pint and a Half so will be good to hear a new act on the scene as well as revisiting old freinds.

This first night may lead to other similar nights with different acts, if it is well supported. A similar night already runs very successfully, in Cleethorpes in the very capable hands of Rob at the Seafront Sessions on Thursdays. Check it out if you are in town that day. They are held at the Kings Royal Hotel in Mucky Muldoon's bar.

Thankfully, it is not just mudcatters we rely on for our usual audience, or we would be thin on the ground! I always like to post on here as I know there are a few mudcatters who come along, sometimes.
For those who have not been before, the nights at Caistor are usually well-supported and are friendly and welcoming.
If the thought of driving somewhere out in the 'wilderness' puts you off...it takes me less time to drive from Grimsby to Caistor than it does to drive from the outskirts of Grimsby to Cleethorpes and it is less stressful! We are also house trained and not that different from town dwellers, honest....!

SO who are pint and a Half ?
Its nice that you have somewhere to go where you live. It must be a right pain always having to drive into Grimsby or Cleethorpes to meet all your musical mates.
Now they can come to you instead.

H, I'll be on my way back from Italy that evening - working BTW, not holidaying (it's a tough job but someone's got to do it!) - so won't be able to make it. Hope all goes well, and I'll try to get to the next one. Tell me there will be a next one.............!!

No I won't be coming home from Italy - I won't have gone by then! I'll be MC-ing the Gainsborough Folk Festival Folk Club on 24/10. Italy's the week after that.

D'oh!!

Maybe catch you at Gainsborough Folk Festival, BWM. I am going for some of the workshops plus the Sunday concert. The festival looks good as always, Sue and Deirdre were talking, to me yesterday, about it, at the 'Sing Up' workshop we went to, (and enjoyed, incidently!).
Oops, going off course on my own thread, lol!
We are hoping that the music night on Friday, is the first one of several of this style. They work well in other places and give people a chance to see a decent set of songs from 4 different acts, so there should be something for everyone within the night. Informal and friendly, but well-organised and professional, is the remit for the nights my other half organises at the Club.

Preparations all in place and we are really looking forward to the night!
PS
Even I, am not allowed to know the full line-up of Pint and a Half, yet, but I know they will be putting on a good set! :-)
Will say Hi to Mark for you BWM and hope you have a good hol!

Have fun BWM
Btw, I'm enjoying your sample CD...Been playing it in the car when I can manage to prise everyone else's CDs out there. Always liked the Fulstow one but am enjoying the others, too. You have a good sound between you.
