Subject: House Session, east London 25 October From: Liz the Squeak Date: 14 Oct 08 - 02:53 AM Yes, we've got visiting Americans this time, so come on over and have a session with us. The visiting American is Suffet, along with various wives and husbands, not necessarily his own. The usual suspects (leastways, those who are not at the Scottish Mudgather) will be there, and food is provided. If you want to bring anything to add to the mix, please feel free. Crash space is available on a 'first come gets the duvet' basis. PM me for address and directions if you don't know where we are. House is easily accessible by tube, bus or car and West Ham are not at home that day (they're at home on the Sunday to Arsenal, 4.00pm kick off if you're interested) so parking won't be a problem. Hope to see you there! LTS |

Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Manitas_at_home Date: 15 Oct 08 - 05:23 AM By the time everyone gets in there'll be no room for bopping. Hand-jiving, maybe. Definitely some good crack. |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Oct 08 - 06:54 AM That's crack in the 'company' sense of the word - craic - rather than any other sense... the house next door hasn't been used for that purpose for ages since it was busted by the Drug Squad.... LTS |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 Oct 08 - 09:24 AM Keeping it bubbling to the top.... LTS |

Kitty - which Charminster? The proper one or the one in Bournemouth? If it's the proper one near Dorchester, the Three Compasses used to be my local... it may even still have a picture of my dad in the bar. LTS |

Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Liz the Squeak Date: 25 Oct 08 - 09:26 PM They got here, we had fun! It's just breaking up now, 2 and a half hours after I drove Steve and his party to the station! Thank you to everyone who came - it didn't turn out as I'd expected but it was a great evening all the same... good to see so many old friends again, and hopefully make some new ones. We had songs from madrigals to modern parodies, there is an awful lot of food left over - MGAS - the bread will go in the freezer and be enjoyed at a later date - and an awful lot of empty bottles!!! Thank heavens for that extra hour tomorrow morning! Steve, Ann, Marilyn and Wayne are flying back to the US tomorrow, have a good flight and I hope you had a good stay here in the UK, you certainly seem to have packed a lot in! LTS |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: My guru always said Date: 26 Oct 08 - 07:05 AM Lovely evening, thanks so much for all your hard work Liz & Paul! When I saw how much food was on the table I didn't bother to unwrap the bread, glad you'll be able to make use of them. Great to meet/hear our American visitors, didn't get to chat as we'd got stuck into the food. Safe journey back! |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: vectis Date: 26 Oct 08 - 06:28 PM Very enjoyable evening, thanks for arranging it Liz. We had a great time. |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Herga Kitty Date: 26 Oct 08 - 07:13 PM Liz - it was the proper one (DT2 7), we camped at the caravan facilities at the Wolfedale golf club, and had a singaround last night. Then lunch at the Sun carvery today before returning home. The last time I stayed in Charminster was for the infamous Herga Morris Dorset tour, which included a tour of the Eldridge Pope brewery! Sods law that I managed to be in London for the Dorset catters session (for Jenny and Rob) and in Dorset for the London one for Suffet and co. Kitty |
Subject: RE: House Session, east London 25 October From: Liz the Squeak Date: 27 Oct 08 - 01:12 AM Ah, the Sun at Burton.. I remember it when it was just a Devenish roadside pub that the bikers used.... When was the Herga Morris tour? If it were more than 20 years ago, I might even have seen them! Thanks to all who came on Saturday, none of the food will be wasted.. even the tomoatoes (which none of us eat) will go to a good home, as will the beer and wine presently gracing our sideboard! It's good to have such generous friends! So... anyone visiting London in the third week of November and need a session? LTS |
