I hope so much that there's no such thing as Global Worming, Art, it would be the end of the free world as we know it.

In the meantime, I stayed on s0da water for 26 hours and all symptoms have kindly buggered off. and I hope they're gone for good.

Perhaps I'm a global worming denier, they say denial is greatest in places like Australia, where the symptoms are the most extreme. I mean, they have those Giant Gippsland Earthworms, some of which I've been told are up to 3 meters long, and can be ridden like those Dune worms, if you get a few drinks into them!! (shudder)

Sometime worms are a great boon to folks with allergies or auto immune diseases. They are a virtual cure.

These wrigglers can also have a 30 year or longer "hibernation period. BUt these guys are teeny and not your ravenous 30 foot long tapeworm. THink of the movie Dune.

They do have a face only a mother could love.

We wanted to grow honder plants in our garden but weren't having much luck. The local green thumb guru told me to drink absinthe because it would cause me to have a lot of gas. He also said that I should squat over the plants and flatulate 'em. He was certain that would solve our problems because ----- absinthe makes the fart grow honder!

that's great E.W.    it's very effective and gets rid of them in all their stages... 2 weeks on, one week off, then 2 more weeks on... after that a couple of times a week.... and a yearly clean out....

good luck.... this is one of the best things that we can do for improving our overall health.....

Guest, bankley, on 22 Dec you were kind enough to suggest I try Cloves Black Walnut and Wormwood. I went to the herbal pharmacist today and asked for something for parasites, and she provided me with a tincture made of just that. Compared to the flagyl, it tastes pretty good.

Well, a few months on, I ask myself. What is the purpose of life? Everything comes as a lesson, and that which you don't learn repeats itself. Despite battering rams of flagyl, despite garlic bombs and imodium, the parasites are flourishing and refuse to be diminished.

I am once more defeated.

Some say that things of the body are lessons for the spirit. So I have tried to be humble and embrace the spirit, but it appears insubstantial and evasive, like a flowing river. I ponder on the nature of water, its flow, as the Buddha did, when he sat by the river as a boatman, water as substance, as Jesus did when He walked on it, or water as a stream of life, as Tagore wrote? What can I learn from the nature of flowing water, to apply to this life lesson?

To move around obstacles, rather than facing them head on? To move rapidly and cleanse, rather than to stay stagnant? Should I contemplate the clear trickling brook? or the fireman's hose with it's blast of power?

I think at this stage it's time for water as liberator. I shall seek an internal irrigation, one of such magnitude that my lowest desires shall be purged, and flushed into the canals of life, there to flow eternally to the sea, while I stand tall and walk, evermore free of worms and those that seek to foster them.

Despair is a small price to pay for the hope that arises in pursuit of remedy.

surprisingly my new puppy just had a case of them. The vet said she probably had it when I got her and she probably picked it up from some bad water. He gave her an antibiotic of some type and told me that is one of the few parasites that humans can get from their dogs. I guess a dose of antibiotics gets rid of the critters but you have to get to the doc cause in humans they do make you sick sick sick.

a combination of wormwood, black walnut and groud cloves. Very effective. Available in liquid form. This will kill all stages, including the eggs. Most of us have parasites that can cause major health problems..... I mean MAJOR....

Hehehe... minds me. That talk and slide show... that lad was the sfter dinner speaker at a house dinner (house = uni men's residence). Our Don's wife was a biology prof and she arranged for the talk.

One part of the talk dealt with worms from undercooked fish and seafood. Some of these worms live in the last quarter of the bowels. When the host is sleeping, they push their way partly past the anal sphincter and lay eggs. I shall stop there and not relay the remainder of the cycle of procreation. Suffice it to say that it involves itchiness in that region.

The speaker also said that if anyone thought they might be subject to such a parasite, they need only perform a simple task. Upon waking in the morn, they could pat a small piece of clear "Scotch Brand Tape" near the sphinter and subsequently fold it, thereby trapping any eggs, and submit it to our "Den Mother", as he called the Don's wife, in his rather austere English accent, for her analysis.

Well, our house had it's own dining hall, replete with a 72 year old cook who was often was forgetful. And, the kitchen served deep fried battered fish once a week. Out of 64 residents, 55 submitted said pieces of tape within two days and all tested positive.

The orange flavoured powder we were given to mix with water and drink daily for three days was tasty, but the lineups at the house toilets were excruciating.

Anyway, the bi-valves and bottom feeders in the Northumberland straight are extra tasty.

Yes, bobad. And, also, here in NB, our government is outsourcing the building and operation of schools. The for-profit companies that get these contracts only care about the bottom line, so the schools are definitely hazards for such problems due to the materials used for construction and due to the fact that fresh air costs money.

I find this absolutely sickening. So do many children.

Almost certainly.

Most of these, you kill off the adults with whatever stuff you take to get rid of them, but the eggs in your system are still around. An *essential* part of treatment is to hit them with a second dose after the eggs have hatched but before the critters get to reproduce. For most of them, I think that's two weeks.

OTOH, I also remember the NewScientist article a little while back where people with IBS were deliberately given parasitic worms that live in pigs. The worms couldn't survive long-term in humans, but did for a bit. Most of these people, their IBS cleared up. A major current hypothesis is that IBS and other similar grief is caused by a lack of internal parasites, so your body's defence mechanisms get over-sensitive with nothing to do.

Eat bread crumbled into milk only sprinkle a gill gunpowder (the old-fashioned black powder kind, not the new "smokeless powder") into it first. Don't smoke while preparing this.

If, however, you don't WANT to try these recipes I heartily endorse a good doctor, 'cause Death might not be be part of your plans for the immediate future.

The comments on this thread have been moving. It has been heartening to read the diverse wisdom, including the very prudent comments re Flagyll.

Yes, my doc flagyllated me but i think I need a second bout. i imbibed some more garlic today, and strangely, while no one seems to want to be near me, it felt good.

I guess we're all just a bunch of microorganisms anyway, controlled by a sort of giant computer in the head that thinks it's in control. so, in some ways, this experience has been a spiritual one. I never feel alone anymore, because I'm reminded that I have company.

I appreciate the bonhomie and bon mots. soon i hope to report that the little ones have been empowered. I hope to engage in some internal capacity building, to assist them so they are no longer dependant on me and can find their own way in life, reach out into the sun, so to speak.



If not, i'LL BLITZ THE BASTARDS.

Jimmyt is right. DO NOT mess about with traditional remedies for this. Giardia is very difficult to kill off.

Probiotics can help, but only if you take them AS WELL AS something like Flagyl.

Poor Trevor, though, had only just gotten past the whole ordeal of changing a diaper without upchucking. That he stayed after that for seventeen years is a tribute to his character!

Coil oil is another name for kerosene. it is NOT to be taken internally. I suspect those who have come through it are OK despite not because of it.
