From: Black Diamond Date: 30 Oct 08 - 01:59 PM Hi all Just thought I would thank you Brid Widder . we went, and we had a great time - a very warm welcome, excellent music and singing from the regulars, some fantastic visitors from Leeds and from Sheffiled, and they even applauded my playing !! if anyone who was there sees this , then I would like to congratulate you on a really great session, and for the warm welcome from you all Lin |

Subject: RE: Whitby - on holiday -sessions? From: gnomad Date: 23 Oct 08 - 07:21 AM Yeah I've noticed the Scarborough on some on-line maps too, I suspect that it is to do with what council has jurisdiction here. I have certainly never heard anyone refer to any part of the town as Scarborough, and if you asked directions for Scarborough you would probably get either a blank look (visitor reaction) or directions for the Scarborough road, accompanied by a suggestion that you can't really want to go there (resident reaction) As regards sessions you really have only the one already mentioned at the FILO during the three days you are here, but it is usually a good one, and quite close to where you are working. Charliestu doesn't seem to post here much now (might be lurking though) and Commander Crabbe still visits sometimes, they are two of the leading lights at the FILO. |

Subject: RE: Whitby - on holiday -sessions? From: Black Diamond Date: 22 Oct 08 - 10:19 AM Thanks Tyke although Scarborough is too far south for us to travel I know its not too far geographically speaking, but we are on a working holiday, helping to paint the NYMR station at Goathland, so we will have a long hard day, and so not too much time in the evening for travel !!
