Pete Galligan, musician, wit, storyteller, artist and Cavan man was laid to rest today in Clarenbridge, Co Galway. He joins Mickey Finn, Joe Cooley and Joe Dolan, his dad Dr John and Dr Bill Loughnane, et all, in the Big House Above.
I never left a conversation with Pete without a lighter step and a chuckle in my head.
Gerry Carthy has photos of Pete and the others going back to the Seventies on his website at www.gerrycarthy.com

My condolences to the family and friends of Pete Galligan.

I didn't have the opportunity to know Pete Galligan or his creative works. However, it's a great tribute to the man to read that you not only remember him for his creative skills & talents but also because you "never left a conversation with Pete without a lighter step and a chuckle in my head."

Pete,
Always a man to meet for a pint in the old days and we all longed for him to , one day, pass final med.Alas it was not to be.Perhaps he is up there in the heavens with all the Doctors, all sharing the same musical medicine they loved so much.If that is so , Pete, play one for us....Toss the Feathers...........
