Much thanks to Olga, Ken, Kate, Bob, Tim, Nigel, Alan, Phil, John, Ann, John, Martin, Dave, Norman and Ged for great songs and Bob and John for the joy of the Smallpipes. We missed Sean & Rachel and Dave but ew know where they live!

We had many somber songs as fits this time of remembrance but what amazing songs they were.

Well all being well we meet on Wednesday 3 December and that will be our first anniversary!

I may not have mentioned it, but my brother-in-law's best friend's Mum used to make her own mint-balls. Not only that, but William Santus (himself) tried to get the recipe off her, and failed - she wasn't selling. Bit of a shame as far as the rest of us are concerned, really.

Anyway, that was another very fine night. Although, when Les said we shouldn't leave without singing this song, I was a bit concerned it was going to be the Star-Spangled Banner...

if you can get a bus to Chorlton Bus Station you will have got to the end of Beech Road - the other end 1/2 a mile has the Beech.

Look forward to meeting you Vin. I wouldn't be at all surprised if somebody didn't offer you a lift back as far as the Metro at Trafford Bar.

It's looking good for next Wednesday when it will be a Singaround on Bonfire Night at the Beech. Kate has suggested a theme of fire which is seasonal and dramatic. I guess songs about Cellars would not be out of order.

Songs and tunes mostly but not exclusively traditional will be most welcome. Is anybody composing the Ballad of Sale Folk Club?
