Subject: Lyr Req: Seven Dreams (If this song exists) From: GUEST,blue_jeans Date: 31 Oct 08 - 12:49 PM I found a reference to a song called Seven Dreams. It was likely written in the early 1950s, but I can't find the actual song anywhere. It's supposed to be somewhat a blues type of song. Does somebody know at least a verse if the lyrics? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Seven Dreams (If this song exists) From: Jim Dixon Date: 31 Oct 08 - 02:47 PM Carrie Newcomer wrote and recorded a song called SEVEN DREAMS on her album "The Age of Possibility" (2000)—but I don't think that's the one you want; it's too new. SEVEN DREAMS (THEME) or THEME FROM 'SEVEN DREAMS' is also the name of one of the parts of a musical suite/album called MANHATTAN TOWER, composed by Gordon Jenkins in 1946, and revised and expanded in 1956. You can read more about it at Allmusic.com or Wikipedia. The sound sample that I listened to didn't sound particularly bluesy—more orchestral and schmaltzy. I didn't hear any words, but maybe that's because the sample was too short. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Seven Dreams (If this song exists) From: GUEST,blue_jeans Date: 31 Oct 08 - 03:36 PM Thanks, for the info, Jim. I did a little more research, and that album was all I found. So far I found sources that it was recorded in 1953 and 1954, but wasn't released at that time. I'll give those articles a read. Thank you. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Seven Dreams (If this song exists) From: GUEST,blue_jeans Date: 31 Oct 08 - 03:45 PM I also found the lyrics that I was looking for in an article somewhere, but they seemed to be really strange. Some of them were a bit incoherent. |
