Subject: RE: Bram Taylort Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Bernard Date: 01 Nov 08 - 07:41 AM Sounds as if you'll have a great evening, Les! Give Bram my regards! I've never met Wendy, or seen her live, but I love her voice on the recording I've heard. The track was 'The Blacksmith' from the 'Live at Acoustic Kitchen' album, and we played it a few months ago on Oldham Community Radio. Perhaps you could find out if she recorded an acoustic version of that song, as the track was marred by the guitar being recorded direct from the pickup...! If she hasn't, send her to me and she can record it in my studio!! ;o) |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylort Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Bernard Date: 01 Nov 08 - 07:45 AM Sorry... I've just checked, and 'Live at Acoustic Kitchen' is a MySpace site, which probably explains the recording quality. We were given the track by a club organiser, as she was appearing at his club that week. |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylort Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Rasener Date: 01 Nov 08 - 07:57 AM Thanks Bernard. I will pass on your regards to Bram. Tickets are selling well. I am sure Mrs Banjiman & Banjiman AKA Wendy & Paul Arrowsmith will pick up on your comments Bernard, when they read this thread. Les |

Subject: RE: Bram Taylort Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Nov 08 - 08:31 AM Tell him not to sing Penny Evans as an opener. When a bloke of Brams age starts the night with "My name is Penny Evans and I'm just turned twenty one" he should expect the club to fall about laughing. I don't think he has ever forgiven us at Swinton:-D Cheers DeG |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylort Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Rasener Date: 01 Nov 08 - 08:34 AM Dave That sounds like a great opening for him. It should get everybody in a good mood. Was he dressed up for it :-) Les |

Becuase of food, we will be short of 20/30 tickets to cater for the tables etc. So make sure you get to Bram Taylors event to secure you Xmas ticket. |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Banjiman Date: 02 Nov 08 - 07:59 AM Hi Bernard, Wendy says thanks for your very kind comments. "The Blacksmith" was actually recorded live at The Acoustic Kitchen (so it is not an album), diect from the desk... we do not have studio recording of it yet. Just put it up on MySpace as a bit of variety. Wendy is starting to record her second album over the next few weeks and it will include a similar version of The Blacksmith. If you would like to pm me we'll sort you out some better quality recordings including her first album "Now Then". Les, we're really looking forward to Faldingworth, I'm just sorting out a portable piano (not!)....... Cheers Paul |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Bernard Date: 02 Nov 08 - 12:42 PM PM sorted, Paul, including my snail- and e- mail addresses. Yes, I realised my mistake when I found it on MySpace!! |

Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Rasener Date: 16 Nov 08 - 03:28 AM Good morning world. We had a good turnout and they were not disappointed. Wendy Arrowsmith & Paul (have banjo will travel) Arrowsmith opened the evening with a 30 minute support spot and they were very good. By the time they had finished, the audience were well warmed up for our Guest. Many thanks to them. Bram Taylor our guest, did not disappoint. He did 2 x 45 minute spots of entertainment in the true sense of the word. He was very funny and as expected gave us a very good selection of songs. The audience really enjoyed it. Terry Hutson joined Bram on occasions and accompanied him on the Mandolin. A nice encore finish with Bram inviting Wendy, Paul and Terry on stage to do the last song together. Big thanks to Gwenda & Terry Cater for looking after the PA side and the MC'ing. Mr & Mrs Dependable. Not sure how much we gave to Faldi Tots, but I would think it was a useful sum of money and hopefully helps them a little bit. It was indeed a very enjoyable evening. So to our next event, which will be our Xmas evening on December 6th where we will be entertained whilst we eat by Cara and then Shep Woolley's RocknRoll (Elvis to Revolver) acoustic show. Knowing Shep it should be very funny. So get your tickets early (limited tickets due to meal). 7 tickets left. |

Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Banjiman Date: 16 Nov 08 - 02:22 PM Hi Les, Great night.... thought Bram's bits between his songs were excellent....very, very funny (his songs were OK too!!!!!!). I would like Gwenda to come and MC at KFFC sometime....her Primary School Teacher stare and cutting wit would definitely keep them in order....superb! Very professional set up all round, good sound, responsive audience and excellent raffle prizes (though not as unique as the homegrown beetroot at Gainsborough).... been enjoying the Liquorice Allsorts on the way home. Glad you enjoyed our little spot...... maybe you're cured of your anti banjo ways?? Tim, a Banjax is a hex that banjo players put on those who insult god's own instrument....so beware! Paul |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Rasener Date: 16 Nov 08 - 02:52 PM Hi Paul Anti banjo ways. Hardly as a fan of Lonnie Donegan and trad jazz fan the banjo (especially the tenor banjo) is a must. What one says on Mudcat, doesn't mean that's what one believes. :-) All instruments are welcome at Faldingworth, including piano's banjo's Kazoo's, Bohran's etc. Gwenda is very good isn't she. Cracks me up at each event. Not sure if all the performers manage to suss her out. Even Bram with all his wit was struggling to compete LOL :-) Thanks for the nice comments Paul. Beetroot!!! You can't beat a good old dose of liquorice allsorts. :-) Anyway it was a pleasure having Wendy and yourself along. Hope we looked after you properly. Les |
Subject: RE: Bram Taylor Nov 15 2008 Faldingworth From: Rasener Date: 16 Nov 08 - 02:59 PM Actually, I think Bram fell in love with Gwenda, becuase its not very often, he can find a women his height :-) LOL |
