Subject: RE: Ade & Bad Shepherds Tour cancelled ? From: GUEST Date: 01 Nov 08 - 08:34 PM We were on our honeymoon and went to a bar where this band were being filmed by BBC cameramen playing live. There was hardly any1 in the venue and the band were very unpro. The support band were more entertaining! I hadn't a clue who Adrian Edmondson was but my husband used to watch him on tele. We met lots of friends there and we all agreed that the fiddle player was the coolest thing about the whole band. The others didn't perform. Shame she left. Now they'll just b a bunch of old men trying to be rock stars! Trudy & John Green |
Subject: RE: Ade & Bad Shepherds Tour cancelled ? From: Sugwash Date: 01 Nov 08 - 05:18 PM There's this explanation on Maartin Allcock's site: This from Ade: "It's a weird situation. We've only been a band for a few months. We discovered, perhaps too late, that our fiddle player wasn't really the right fiddle player for us. We tried to encourage her to play the way we wanted her to, but she took umbrage and quit the band. It appears our manager/promoter was rather enamoured of her and he threw up his hands and quit the band too - cancelling the tour with only three days to go. We have rescued a couple of the gigs so far, and it looks like we may rescue a handful of other dates, but it was not possible to take over all his contracts as they stood (not least because he had the money!). But fear not, we shall rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. The two rescued gigs in Pocklington went brilliantly. We had a lot of fun. The audience had a lot of fun. This is just an annoying hiccup. The Brook in Southampton on 5th Dec is definitely back on." |

Subject: RE: Ade & Bad Shepherds Tour cancelled ? From: Rasener Date: 01 Nov 08 - 04:14 PM Well here are some links that might throw a bit of light on the subject. Seems a bit confusing, but I am sure that those who were going to the gigs will understand more http://board.newmodelarmy.org/index.php?topic=1927.0 http://www.kalyr.com/weblog/2008/10/23/bad-shepherds-tour-cancelled/ http://mostlyautumn.yuku.com/topic/1216 |
Subject: RE: Ade & Bad Shepherds Tour cancelled ? From: The Borchester Echo Date: 01 Nov 08 - 01:22 PM I'd imagine that charging £20 a ticket might have had something to do with it. |
