harpgirl,

That's me, in one of my manififestations. I assume you're the same, though I've not seen your name on the Cyberpluckers list. Do you go use a different alias there?

Nathan

Robin and Linda can make you feel just about anything, can't they? Wonderful performers, and wonderful people.

Does anyone know the origins of this song? It's on the "Good News" CD by Robin and Linda Williams where it's listed as "traditional." They list their source as "a tape we bought in a truck stop in northern California." My mother-in-law reports having heard it sung in church 30 years ago. Any information would be welcome.

I'll not be a stranger when I get to that city

I'm acquainted with folks over there.

There'll be friends there to greet me,

There'll be loved ones to meet me,

At the gates of that city foursquare.

Through the years, through the tears, they've gone one by one.

But they'll wait at the gate, until my race is won.

I'll not be a stranger when I get to that city.

I'm acquainted with folks over there.

I'll not be a stranger when I get to that city

I've a home on the streets paved with gold

I will feel right at home there,

In that beautiful somewhere

With the loved ones whose memories I hold.

I'll not be a stranger when I get to that city

There'll be no lonely days over there.

There'll be no stormy weather

But a great time together

On the streets of that city foursquare
