have we heard the last from this guest, i suppose ...

anyway I attempted a search. For what it's worth,
there is a 1983 vinyl LP out there from Switzerland.

One track says:
D'r Staubbach,   3:41 (timing?)
written by
Hans Flück, Monika Steiner

The recording itself is
Heimatabend in Lauterbrunnen
the artists are
Jodlerklub Lauterbrunnen,
Kurt von Allmen (Solojodler)
Schwyzerörgeli-Quartett Lauterbrunnen

and the webpage says the label is
Tell Records, TLP 5358,
and the rights society is SUISA.

THis must be the same record album
referenced in the opening post.

"D'r Staubbach" is only one of many tracks on the album.
I don't find any other references to this jodel song.

Well, your search is more inclusive than mine was --
I stuck to one spelling,
and there are two different spellings at least.
I would guess that this is what Brioc was talking about.
Good show, " # ".

(was there not a thread recently,
asking after your self?)

Guest #, thanks for that link. We stayed in the Lauterbrunnen valley a few years ago, and its beauty is extraordinary. There was an overturned fold in the bedrock cliff right outside our hotel.

Please note the remarkable geology at 2:02. The DH thought the bakery was great.

I enjoyed the yodeling.

Most welcome, leeneia. I got lucky because of keberoxu's post--if I recall correctly it was because keberoxu had included the names of the writers. I don't know any German/Swiss German at all, so other than enjoying the sound of the voices, it's all a mystery to me.

keberoxu, I don't know that Brioc will see this because the last post by anyone with that name was about seven years back. Time flies when yer havin' fun, huh?

leeneia, I was just looking at a topographic map of the Lauterbrunnen valley (to clarify in my head what was in the video). It's beautiful terrain but also very harsh in a manner of speaking. That must have been a wonderful vacation.

Yes, it was. Another memory from that trip: I made a movie of the empty courtyard of an urban hotel, and the purpose of the "movie" was to record       sounds - church bells softly chiming while a blackbird sang away. A lovely thing for a Sunday morning.

"Jodel" is German -- Yodel is English --
guess which came first?
