Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: bbc Date: 05 Nov 08 - 06:48 AM I'm content with my decision. I abstained from voting for President, but supported my party with my other votes. I have loved ones who voted on each line. My God grant Obama clear vision, wisdom, & safety in his term of office! best to all, bbc |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Amos Date: 04 Nov 08 - 05:30 PM Get out there and make sure McCain and Palin get in. Two people that hold values. Justin: You are revealing yourself as a narrowminded bigot. The TRUTH is that every single person who goes to the polls or is running for office today holds values. If you do not see this is so, then my guess is you are blinded by your own values, which own you as a robotic cyborg rather than being chosen rationally by you. We are all Americans, Justin. No matter what hue, politics, or sexual orientation or gender. Get effin' used to it, and move away from the toxic backwater in which you have taken up residence, is my advice. A |

That really puzzles me, because I live in Denmark, Europe, and the Americans here are able to vote. I don't know the procedure, but I think they are able to vote by sending a letter, and perhaps also by showing up at the embassy. Would anyone care to explain the rules and procedures about this? |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: GUEST,Justin Urquart Date: 04 Nov 08 - 08:50 AM So Paul, tell about these millions Nelson made for his people, you said he did well. Still waiting. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Paul Burke Date: 04 Nov 08 - 08:16 AM As I said, nice to see good ol' American traditions of ignorance and bigotry alive and well. Hint- the USA was well in the shit within 10 years of Lincoln's death. Read less Shite News, and get out into the real world a bit. Better stioll, post something about folk music on a folk music forum, though the evidence is that you know as little about that as about everything else. No doubt after tomorrow you'll vanish back into the slime from which you so recently emerged. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: GUEST,Justin Urquart Date: 04 Nov 08 - 08:08 AM Well said Peter. In some ways I would like to see him get in, as he will make such a fuck up that I would love to speak to his supporters in a few months time and see are they still wiping that tear from their eye for him. He won't last even if he did get in. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: GUEST,Justin Urquart Date: 04 Nov 08 - 08:05 AM Not all our yesterdays Paul. What about today ?? The truth about Mandela Paul is so hidden in mythology and misinformation that most know nothing about him prior to Robben Island. You look on him as this great guy, he was a terrorist, Paul.
So Paul, is he still a nice guy ??? Yeah can see where you are coming from, he made a balls of the country and you know it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Midchuck Date: 04 Nov 08 - 08:01 AM I intend to vote Republican at the State level, and Libertarian at the national level. I don't really trust Barr either - I think he may be an ultraconservative in disguise as a Libertarian - but he's not about to win in any case, and every Libertarian vote tells the Republicans that they need votes from more people than the rich, the warhawks, and the protestant fundamentalists, to stay competitive. The Democrats are, IMO, living in a dream world. They think they can repeal the law of supply and demand by legislation, and create the perfect society by eliminating private enterprise and having everyone work for the government. I believe that's been tried. Peter |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Paul Burke Date: 04 Nov 08 - 07:59 AM In 1991, a multiracial forum led by de Klerk and Mandela, the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (CODESA), began working on a new constitution. In 1993, an interim constitution was passed, which dismantled apartheid and provided for a multiracial democracy with majority rule. The peaceful transition of South Africa from one of the world's most repressive societies into a democracy is one of the 20th century's most remarkable success stories. Mandela and de Klerk were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. The 1994 election, the country's first multiracial one, resulted in a massive victory for Mandela and his ANC. The new government included six ministers from the National Party and three from the Inkatha Freedom Party. A new national constitution was approved and adopted in May 1996. In 1997 the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, chaired by Desmond Tutu, began hearings regarding human rights violations between 1960 and 1993. The commission promised amnesty to those who confessed their crimes under the apartheid system. In 1998, F. W. de Klerk, P.W. Botha, and leaders of the ANC appeared before the commission, and the nation continued to grapple with its enlightened but often painful and divisive process of national recovery. Nelson Mandela, whose term as president cemented his reputation as one of the world's most farsighted and magnanimous statesmen, retired in 1999. Probably the best president any country has ever had, Washington and Lincoln not excepted. Now bugger off. |

Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: bbc Date: 04 Nov 08 - 07:02 AM Bill D spoke for me. I am a Republican, but I can't, in good conscience, vote for my party's current candidates. I will be going to the polls today, but I don's expect to be casting a vote for President. This will be the first Presidential election, since I was able to vote, in which I haven't done so. Here's my flickr post for today:Tattered Glory This will be an historic election. Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: GUEST,Justin Urquart Date: 04 Nov 08 - 02:47 AM Get out there and make sure McCain and Palin get in. Two people that hold values. As for those who feel that other one can get into the White House, ask yourself this, How many countries can you call to mind who has a black president or leader and has made a go of it ? If he did get in (God forbid) do you honestly think he will see his term in office out ??? Then again, part of me wants to see him get in, that way those arseholes who live in dreamworld would get the plank out of their eye when they see what he does and who he does it it ! |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Maryrrf Date: 03 Nov 08 - 11:33 PM I'm facing the same dilema, Ron. I was going to try to vote before work, but may just leave work early and try for the afternoon. Decisions...decisions... But I DO know who I'm voting for! |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: WFDU - Ron Olesko Date: 03 Nov 08 - 10:35 PM I'm still undecided. I don't know whether I should vote before I go to work or after. Probably before, although the polls do stay open late in NJ and I live only 1 block away. I realize it has been two years to decide, but I'm still not sure. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Naemanson Date: 03 Nov 08 - 10:04 PM I cannot vote because I live in a US territory, not a state. I am depending on each and every one of you to vote for Obama. You have to offset the bigot vote. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: John O'L Date: 03 Nov 08 - 06:54 PM I will not be voting but I am not undecided. I live outside the USA but not outside the region immediately effected by who is chosen, which is pretty much the rest of the world. I think The-rest-of-the-world should be given the status of an extra state, with one Electoral College vote per country. Is that unreasonable? |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Amos Date: 03 Nov 08 - 05:52 PM I think after the way he has treated Chinga -- and we all know she has a wicked mean streak in her when arouse -- he may find himself laughed out of any polling place where he applies to vote. She does have some well-established influence with the Daley famiy, who are among her oldest and most loyal clients. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 08 - 05:13 PM Chongo is not a "she", and may very well vote for Obama himself. He sure as hell is not going to vote for McCain. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:45 PM If you're still undecided at this point, try this little mind-clearing exercise: Find a quite peaceful place, assume the lotus position and begin chanting "Om". Now, there are only two sounds in the Om, those being the vowel sound "o" and the consonant sound "m". Just by coincidence, those happen to be the first letters in the last names of the two major party presidential candidates. Continue chanting "Om" until you begin to feel an afinity for either the "o" or the "m". If you feel the "o" speaks more clearly to you, vote for Obama. If you feel the "m" speaks more clearly to you, vote for Cynthia McKinney. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Sorcha Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:43 PM I actually know a few people who plan to vote for Nader....again. I consider a total waste to vote for him. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Wesley S Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:37 PM And that's fine by me if some people don't vote. Unless they have enough interest in the issues to get informed I'd just as soon they stay home. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Alice Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:34 PM I also heard that many who say undecided just won't vote at all. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: PoppaGator Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:32 PM One "talking head" I saw on TV over the weekend put forth the opinion that the so-called "undecideds" are just people who want to be part of focus groups, or to feel important because they are being asked quesiton by pollsters. Makes sense to me. Anyone still truly undecided at this late hour shouldn't have a vote ~ too dumb! |

Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Amos Date: 03 Nov 08 - 04:02 PM There are no such people who will be on the streets tomorrow, Little Hawk. They are all boozing late at Chinga's prosperous houses of ill-repute in Chicago and Milwaukee. She is also opening up a special geriatric amusement house in a rented condo in Miami, just for the occasion, so she expects to be very busy7 herself, as well, but she already mailed in her ballot for Obama. Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 08 - 03:55 PM There are people who would like to vote for Chongo, but they figure his chances of getting elected are nil. Some of those will probably not vote, I'm thinking. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Bill D Date: 03 Nov 08 - 03:49 PM It's simple...there are Republicans who have NEVER voted for a Democrat, but who are appalled by what they see in this campaign and by the abuses of the last 8 years. They want to vote to keep any sort of Republican influence that is possible, but are torn by an overwhelming frustration with their choices. What they will actually do may not be clear until they face the ballot. There are also a few 'independents' who are just the dithering sort and kid themselves that they have any real idea what they actually think....these are not a huge sample, but may decide based on some intangible whim in the last hours. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Rapparee Date: 03 Nov 08 - 03:47 PM I shan't be voting tomorrow. Unlike Chicago, Idaho frowns on voting more than once. |

Subject: RE: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Rasener Date: 03 Nov 08 - 02:33 PM I won't be voting Wesley. Thats a bit of a personal question Wesley, but if you must mine is leaning to the left. :-) Good job I am in the UK. It will be nice when it is all over. |
Subject: BS: Anyone undecided - or not voting? From: Wesley S Date: 03 Nov 08 - 02:06 PM Tell me that at this late date that everyone has decided who to vote for?
