Subject: Folk On Tap Magazine From: Geordie-Peorgie Date: 04 Nov 08 - 02:31 PM There wez a thread here a week or so ago wonderin' whether FOT was still a goin' concern. Aah tried te find it again but couldn't. Aah met up wi' Sam (the editor) last Sunday (2nd Nov) and asked him for the definitive answer which is "Yes" However, as some of yez might knaah, Sam had a serious accident aboot two and a half years ago which left him in constant pain in his left shoulder and side. This meant that FOT has had to take a back seat as Sam couldn't get anyone to take it on until his health improved. The medical profession have now decided that he's been in pain long enough and are going to operate to see if thay can fix his shoulder/arm/ribs etc - This will happen sometime this month. Sam hopes that, all being well, there should be an issue of the mag in January 09 and thanks everyone for their patience while he's been 'crocked'. Subject: RE: Folk On Tap Magazine From: Vic Smith Date: 04 Nov 08 - 02:44 PM Try editor@folkontap.co.uk It would be really good to have Folk On Tap back again. It's consistently high standards made it stand out amongst local folk mags in the UK. |
Subject: RE: Folk On Tap Magazine From: Geordie-Peorgie Date: 04 Nov 08 - 02:59 PM Thanks Vic! Aah knaah that Sam has been driven to distraction without the mag but if the 'scab-lifters' dee the job reet (Mind! it's tekkin' them two years te get roond tiv it) the mag'll be up and runnin' again. Aah think that it's probably worth mentioning that FOT really is a shoe-string publication - There's nee profit and for years Sam has managed te keep the standard up and the price reasonable due to the good will of the bloke what does his printing At £2.50 for an A4 glossy which normally has in excess of 70 pages it's bloody good value - AND not just about folk in the Southern Counties, but nationwide |
