Oh no John, no John no. That Irishman was Phil Coulter, but it wasn't him

None of those. I think "The Fields Where I Played" is the title, Jim King the singer/songwriter. Heard not so many moons ago either on Radio Scotland or Mike Harding's BBC Radio 2 programme.
