Just a quick note to say that George Joseph Smith - loveable rogue, brides in the bath killer and serial murderer's life and achievements will be celebratated in a biographical play tomorrow night November 10th 2008 on ITV3 at 10pm.
Martin Kemp gets to play George who was from Camden, so I suppose its bit like East Enders if you close your eyes. Sorted...?

It was originally done for Yorkshire telly, and strangely enough the arseholes wouldn't use my song

to publicise the programme.
What hope for English folksong!
I missed it when it was on last time cos I had a gig - perhaps this time I'll see it - although Monday is my night for the jazz club.

PS How does that work out then?

A mechanical device maybe.....?

Does Sydney like that sort of thing, get a headache occasionally....?

oh....! didn't like it. didn't watch it all. But very disappointed.

Not much clue to, or even a guess at his personality. Which is kind of understandable. It was a very incurious age. Once they had caged an exotic beast like George, all they wanted to do was dispatch him as soon as possible.

Nothing much was logged about him - it was almost pre Freud. People forget how a powerful poetic statement like Freuds interpretation of the subconscious has illumined all human motivation. UIt has made us all better people.

Can't believe they didn't use your song, Al! As soon as I saw the thread title I started singing the chorus...oh no, it is gonna be with me for weeks now and my family will go mad at my even more loopy than usual warblings...

I saw it, although it was half hour into it.
I found it hard to beleive that he was able to drown them with water coming through the ceiling and walk away and then set up and marry another one, whilst already being married.
It could have done with a series on it. 1 murder each week.
Yes it would have been better with Al singing his song in the background as he drowned the poor ladies.
Like Helen, I now have "drown em in the bath, drown em in the bath, drown em in the bath, cause i'm a psyochpath" in my head and can't stop singing it.

Oh bugger, I can't get it out my head, so why should I be the only one.
