Whoops, I guess I should have put on here that the Tap and Spile has reopened! :-)
Open mic at the Tap and Spile with the new landlady in support...(not musically, just in a supportive way!) ...next Tuesday 9th Dec 2008. Music starts 8.30pm. Get there early to book your spot. Usually a nice evening.

The next acoustic night there, is NOT on the usual night of the last Tuesday of the month, but has been moved forward, because of Christmas, to the 16th, but I will confirm that nearer the time.....just in case, ANYONE reads this, lol!

Just a reminder that the alternative to the Tap and Spile, Grimsby, music nights is still going ahead, tomorrow night (Wed 19th Nov) at the Spider's Web, Cleethorpes, 8pm ish. All welcome, a few have said they are going already so should be a nice night. :-)

For all those who have been going to the Tap and Spile Music nights in Grimsby, Lincolnshire UK...
As far as I know, the Tap and Spile has closed temporarily until the new landlord takes over, so Tuesday's Open mic there, WON'T be taking place. Mark Campbell has asked me to pass on the news that he has arranged with the Spider's Web in Cleethorpes for an alternative night to take place a week on Wed (19th Nov) (The usual Tuesday, nights were not available, unfortunately.) Music should start about 8pm.
All musicians welcome as are music lovers, who just want to listen or possible future performers who just want to suss things out and I think this first week is acoustic without PA but it is a possibility that PA may be possible in the future, I am not sure. I think it is free, just like the original nights at the Tap and Spile.
I am sure this will be run in the same way, whereby everyone is given encouragement and a lot of support particularly if newbies to playing in public.
I think it will be a round the room night, whereby people take it in turns to do one song, and the music rotates around the room.
It is hoped that the new owner of the Tap and Spile will make it possible for the music to return to its original venue, once it reopens, but this is a temporary venue to try to keep it so that there is somewhere for everyone who wants to, to meet up, fortnightly.
