The only verse I can remember is:

So boys cling together in all kinds of weather,
Never show the white feather wherever you go,
Be like a brother and help one another,
Like true-hearted sons of the County Mayo.

Far away from the land of the shamrock and heather
in search of our living as exiles we roam
and whenever we chance to assemble togeter
I think of the place where I once had a home
The days of my childhood it's now I regret them
we carry their vision wherever we go
the friends of my youth I will never forget them
they too are exiles from the County Mayo

CHORUS sorry about the spellings!
Ballinrobe to Killala from Swinford to Balla
Newport and Cong and down Castlebar
Ballyhaunis, Belmullet, Tourmakeady, God love it
from the whole land whose great men are known near and far

So boys cling together in all kinds of weather
show the white feather wherever you go
be like a brother and help one another
like the true hearted men from the County Mayo

BigTim

Try HERE for an earlier discussion. The "from" was the problem, I suspect! There's also the usual difficulty with placenames...

Regards

My wife's Grandfather and four brothers, named Healy, were all born in County Mayo. They emigrated to the States in around 1910. Since her sister does genealogical research, I'll include this information for her.

Thanks all, nice to be reminded of the full lyrics.

Whose recording could I have heard in the 60s? Eileen Donaghy?
