Had a great night at GY folkclub last night Harvey Andrews was the guest artist.
He was in fine voice and I really appreciated his songs (please dont get on the plane) a tribute to Buddy Holly also (cheeky young lad)
which I felt was a great story song of Society and its ever changing youth.
In all he was on top form gracing us with his dry humour and witty numbers, I also enjoyed Mark campbell and his brother their harmonies were superb and Mark gave us a solo Eric Bogle song for rememberance sunday.
In all a great night and good turn out thanks also to Arthur Knevitt for his trad ballads his voice just improves with age.
Thanks Arthur for slotting us in for a couple.
Simon Johnson.

>>Had a great night at GY <<
Grimsby

It was so nice to hear Harvey talking in the Brummie accent :-)He was born less than 5 miles from my birthplace. The only sad thing about Harvey, is that he became a B'ham City fan instead of Aston Villa :-) He was on top form last night with some really good songs.
He did a new song about the Brass plaques that were stolen with the names of the fallen from World Wars I and II. I personally thought it was maybe the best song he did on the night. Make sure you keep that in your set.

Very good sets from Arthur Knevitt, Simon Johnson and the Campbell brothers.

Good to see Rockhen there.

Full house which is excellent and great to see for the organisers sake, who work so hard to provide a very good nights entertainment.

Great to know the Old Fella is still gigging and clubs are booking him, he is a true legend of the folk scene, you always have a great night with him , so he didnt put the wrong fuel in his car getting there !

He's not that old Breezy. I said to him last night that I was only 2 years younger than him and he replied "You can't be, you have too much hair". We had a good laugh.

You're right he's got some great songs but you can't call him old-
He's still a youngster yet.

....very good he was too, He's got some great songs.. Not a bad turn out for a Monday night in Middlesbrough (about 60) but we were a bit lost in a room that seats 500!

Lovely opening set from local songstress Barbara Helen as well.

He has a song on one of the Blue Plate specials about an old performer and a young woman. Good song, and so well done.
