Marvellous. ITV Central News just announced they had received a deluge of E mails asking about the song. They didn't say who it was but announced it was on a cd called "we're here because we're here" and gave the number.
It just shows how people can be affected by quality when they get a chance to hear it instead of the dross pumped out daily by radio stations across the country. I've been watching local news for over 50 years and never heard them do the like before.

Fantastic - it just shows what a bit of exposure in the right place can do! Lets hope the extra album sales swell the No Masters Voice coffers enough to pay for the long awaited John Tams & Barry Coope CD!!

Unfortunately, it won't swell any coffers here at No Masters. "We're here..." isn't available any longer and hasn't been for quite a few years.

As I explained on the other thread, the only Coope Boyes & Simpson album with a version of 'Only Remembered' that's available now is the live recording on "Private Peaceful".

Unfortunately Georgina it's typical of modern media. They did their perfunctory best but didn't even give the name of the artists involved. Had it been Jazzy D or Cliff or Oasis they'd have made a big thing of it. You could almost hear their dismissal of CBS as "not celebrities worthy of a mention". However, the public response shows they're doing the right thing for the public if they could only have media access to it. It's been the frustrating burden we've all carried for far too long in this country.

Thanks Wordy. I've mailed the various Newsrooms and asked them to give the updated information to anyone who calls now. I hope they will because it would be a pity to leave people disappointed and searching for an album that doesn't exist anymore when they have a very easily obtainable alternative.

It might work.

Maybe public demand could bring about a reprint? The whole 'We're here because we're here' album is fantastic and a worthy addition to any record collection, not least for the stories behind it and what it represents.

Erm it's actually on "What we sing is what we are". Which should be still about as I only bought a copy this year...

Whilst there may be some "What We Sings" in still stock in shops and websites, there are none here at No Masters and we aren't planning a re-press.
