Subject: Shanty Crew - Two Years On. From: SPB-Cooperator Date: 16 Nov 08 - 11:32 AM Tuesday (18th) will mark the 2nd anniversary of leaving the Shanty Crew, and what follows is my annual report. *s* My Tuesday nights (rehearsal night) have been taken up with me learning Czech, and bearing in mind how awful I was at languages in school, I feel quite please with myself having reached upper-intermediate level. Although I still haven't plucked up the courage to start going to folk clubs again, I have rejoined the music hall group I belonged to, and I am looking forward to my first 'gig' for two years in December. On a domestic note - I have finished decorating my flat, and I am now systematically refurnishing as funds allow - the next big project will be to retile the kitchen floor. I am still curious as to how the various divisions of the Shanty Crew have fared over the last year. This year has really flown by and the 26/27 years I spent with the group are beginning to seem like a distant memory. Well, that's it until my next report in 2009..... Steve |
