Subject: RE: Review: baby let me lay it on you - olddude From: Mark Ross Date: 17 Nov 08 - 10:28 AM Van Ronk didn't write it, it's an old Blind Boy Fuller tune. And the flatted VII chord(F)comes from the Dylan recording. He learned the song from Eric Von Schmidt. Mark Ross |

Next time, please don't be so modest: keep the camera on so we can see what chords you're hitting! For a fuller history of the song, and some of its variations Check this out Norman |

Subject: RE: Review: baby let me lay it on you - olddude From: Nick Date: 17 Nov 08 - 01:11 PM Most enjoyable - it seems to have an extra 1:30 of silence on the end as the song goes on for about 2:30 and the clip is about 4+ mins. I'll have to check out the others |

Subject: RE: Review: baby let me lay it on you - olddude From: olddude Date: 17 Nov 08 - 01:54 PM Nick -silence - yea I forgot to trim . I am so bad at home recording no kidding. I still have not figured it all out. My home recording like my playing is a rough work in progress for sure. I hope to get a handle on this before too long. I am going to make a CD for my kids. They have been asking me for years so recently I finally broke down and bought a recorder instead of just a cheapo mike and sound card. Now, only to figure it all out :-) |
