My father, long deceased, used to whistle a tune over and over, no words. I recognized the tune once in a song containing words something like "On the wings of a snow white dove, He sends his pure sweet love" or something similar. This appears to be an old country gospel tune, but I cannot seem to find it. Many thanks in advance for your help.

It's not really an old song, it was a hit for Ferlin Husky sometime in the last twenty years, I think. It shouldn't be any problem to find a recording.
