Subject: RE: Robin Hood folk club nottingham From: GUEST,Shimrod Date: 20 Nov 08 - 12:46 PM Hhhhmmm! I'm starting a folk club in Nottingham. What shall I call it? Oh dear ... difficult ... very tricky ... I'm a bit stuck ... Iknow!! Let's call it after that outlaw that was supposed to be from round here. Now, what was his name ... ? |

Subject: RE: Robin Hood folk club nottingham From: Acorn4 Date: 20 Nov 08 - 02:13 PM It's a moot point if we can classify ourselves into generations by using Robin Hoods. My parents were the Errol Flynn generation, I was the Richard Greene generation, then we hade the Michael Praed generation and the Kevin Costner generation followed by the fellow on the telly whose name I can't remember but looks a bit like John Boden. The RH is , in fact, a fine club with a long tradition and has survived many changes of venue. Things seem to have conspired to stop us getting there recently, but hope to go in the next couple of months. |

Subject: RE: Robin Hood folk club nottingham From: Dave Sutherland Date: 20 Nov 08 - 05:36 PM Long Eaton in Derbyshire??? I live in Long Eaton and our postcode is NG10 which is Nottingham Our telephone std code is 0115 which is Nottingham as it is smack on the borders (and drive 5 minutes from our house and you are in Leicestershire)some of us i.e. the Forest supporters would stand by the Nottingham connection rather than align ourselves with the sheep. BTW Traditions at the Tiger operates from the same pub as the Robin Hood are currently using. |
