Check it out:

"This Is fun".

Couldn't ask for a much more ironic backdrop, could you? ; D

What was Ms. Sarah thinking???

(Well, maybe about 2012, Boberdz???)

Okay, after that I think she can forget about 2012...

The guy behind her keeps grinning and moving aside to enhance the view. He sure knew what was going on, and was loving it.

"Levity in the job?" Nothing is funnier than a turkey being slaughtered, it seems. Oh well, it could have been a moose.

My first thought was that the background was inserted afterwards, with her comment actually having being done before a blue screen, as is often done in movies.

But then, as pointed out above, the slaughter-worker looking over his shoulder at her seems to tie it together timewise.

"One Turkey Pardons Another", indeed!

I find it very odd that someone IN government appears to adhere to a philosophy of dismantling ("reigning in") the government while claiming to govern...! (it's the conservative mantra)

That kind of talk simply doesn't make any sense to people in most western democracies, but it has become an oft-repeated slogan of the conservative movement in the USA which is secretly devoted to one thing: enabling very rich people to become even richer at the expence of everyone else in society.

CEOs used to earn average 22 times what a line worker earned a few decades ago. They now earn average 400 times what a line worker earns. This is what has been accomplished by deregulation and "reigning in government". The so-called "trickle-down" theory was a big fat lie.

Most people who vote for conservative politicians have themselves been badly hurt by the policies of the very people they voted for, but they just don't get it, because they believe the standard rhetoric and have no idea where their money is really going.

If she is the future of the republican party, all I can say is, I hope so!

Maybe next time on a snowy beach with seal pups being clubbed in the background...

Have you ever heard longer sentences with less content?
I could not do that if I tried.

Sickening. I could not watch it and it was all over the news. She is an idiot.

TIA, I think you've got it nailed!
(Palin still reminds me of those students -- of which I was from time to time one and at other times the professor whose papers was grading -- who haven't been to class or read the text but still try to BS their way through term papers and essay exams.)

Little Hawk [PEDANT ALERT], excesses need to be "reined in." Monarchs are "reigned in" (or out?)." *g* Aside from that, I think you've got it nailed:

[[LH: "the conservative movement in the USA ... is secretly devoted to one thing: enabling very rich people to become even richer at the expence of everyone else in society.

CEOs used to earn average 22 times what a line worker earned a few decades ago. They now earn average 400 times what a line worker earns. This is what has been accomplished by deregulation and "[reining] in government." The so-called "trickle-down" theory was a big fat lie.

Most people who vote for conservative politicians have themselves been badly hurt by the policies of the very people they voted for, but they just don't get it, because they believe the standard rhetoric and have no idea where their money is really going.]]

Pedantry aside, I do find it odd - maybe even slightly amusing - that while over half the country is begging for government "bailouts" for (loans to) failing industries and financial institutions to ward of another Great Depression, Ms. Sarah persists, before her turkey-slaughter backdrop, with the Let's-get-government-out-of-the-way-so-business-can-operate-freely mantra.

I still haven't decided whether Sister Sarah is totally devoid of any consistent political philosophy (just saying whatever she thinks has appeal at the moment) or is truly devoted to a right-wing Christian extremist ("end-times") and Reaganomics )"trickle-down") ideology.

Either way, it's scary.

At least when we stop laughing.

With her head tucked underneath her arm,
She walks the bloody tower,
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the midnight hour!

Possibilities abound!

Here's an uncensored video (no gray blobs to shield the viewers' virgin eyes from what's actually happening):

Uncensored video of Palin pardoning turkey

Innit it wunnerful?   They can show all sorts of realistic human blood an' guts in movies on the TV machine an' even show dead bodies on the news, but they feel they hafta censor the video that shows us how that Thanksgiving turkey made it to our feast table.   (sigh)
