We used to play this tune for years at contradances but never ran across any words.

Great tune!

Hi Van Lingle,

thanks for the response. I may be totally wrong and confusing it with something else in my distant past. I tried Melissa's suggestion but couldn't see any word version on You Tube. OK so we do it as a fiddle tune. Still a great pleasure.

Hey Roger, Are you sure there are lyrics to this tune? I've never heard it as a song and a google search didn't turn up anything for me. I've been playing the tune for a long time and would be interested if you find any words for it. Good luck.

Her indoors has been learning Kitchen Girl on her instrument of choice which happens to be the banjo. Happy families see cos its my instrument of choice too. She'd like to sing the words but I can't find them anywhere. I've meddled in Mudcat, tried goggling in Google, looked longingly in Lomax, all to no avail. Seems to have most currency as a fiddle tune. Can some kind wordangel come up with the verses and make two geriatrics happy.
