I know this is a long shot for most Catters out there, but ...

Has anyone heard of or heard sing a West Country singer called Clifford Tooze? He was presumably recorded by the BBC in 1950 at a barn dance in Sidbury. Newspaper reports of the day indicate he was well-known as a singer and raconteur long before then. He was known to have sung 'On the Banks of Bonny Dundee' (Banks of the Sweet Dundee??) and The Bassoon Song.

He seemed to be in a 'reserved' occupation during WW2 working as a chemist in Sidmouth. He died in Kingston-upon-Thames in 2001, but have no idea when he might have moved there - or whether he might have been a regular at The Fighting Cocks.
