Subject: RE: Suffet & Price - Rockland County NY, Dec 10 From: Suffet Date: 02 Dec 08 - 08:02 PM Greetings: Our December 10th gig at the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library will feature Anne Price and me performing some of Guthrie's better known songs, including This Land Is Your Land, Deportee, Pastures of Plenty, Hard Traveling, and Pretty Boy Floyd. This will be a departure from our usual Woody Rediscovered program in which we present only Guthrie's less known songs, such as Peace Call, Tin Horn Taxi, 66 Highway Blues, Good Old Union Feeling, VD Waltz, Peace Pin Boogie and Way Over Yonder in a Minor Key. But do not despair! Anne and I promise to mix in several of those less known song on December 10th along with your favorite Woody Guthrie standards. Meanwhile, if there are any 'Catters out there who would like to present either our Woody Rediscovered program or our more general Guthrie program as a house concert, folk club performance, festival workshop, etc., please send an e-mail to either me or Anne or to both of us. We also do more eclectic folk song performances. Just ask the good folks at Orpington Friday Folk, the FAB Club, or the Black Swan Folk Club. Thanks. --- Steve Suffet |
Subject: RE: Suffet & Price - Rockland County NY, Dec 10 From: GUEST,Anne Price Date: 02 Dec 08 - 05:49 PM Sorry you can't make it, Dave. I really enjoyed your performance at Eisteddfod NY. I also enjoyed your new CD. Steve and I will also be performing in New York at People's Voice Cafe on Saturday January 31 at 8 pm. People's Voice has moved to the Community Church at 40 East 35 St between Park & Madison. The PV gig will probably include some Guthrie, but we will be doing other things as well, together and separately. It will showcase Steve's new CD Low Rent District. I am working on a new CD too, but I doubt it will be ready by then. The working title is A Few More Miles to Go. |

Subject: Suffet & Price - Rockland County 12/10 From: Rabbi-Sol Date: 01 Dec 08 - 08:20 PM There will be a special FREE concert on Wednesday December 10th in Rockland County, NY at 2 PM in the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library, 10 - West Ramapo Road, Garnerville, NY 10923. Steve Suffet & Anne Price will be doing a concert on "The Songs Of Woody Guthrie" consisting of two 45 minute sets with a 20 minute intermission. We invite all retirees and those who are not working that day (albeit not by choice) to come up to Rockland County and enjoy these two gifted folksingers. The Borderline Folk Music Club of Rockland County is putting on this show at the request of the library who is paying for it out of grant money. The library is located on the westbound side of Route 202 in the Rosman Plaza Shopping Center directly behind the CVS Drug Store. The Coach USA Short Line bus from Port Authority (the one that goes to West Point) stops directly across the street. It is important that there be a large turnout at this concert because the library will fund future events like these if they see a large enough crowd. You do not have to be a Library card holder, or even a resident of Rockland County to attend. This event is open to anybody and everybody. For further information call Karen Romaner at the library. The phone number is (845)-786-3800. SOL |
