I got there, despite having been in a Chiswick greenhouse at 7.15 collecting chili seedlings. And yes, Lynne has a song about this too. She has a song for everything.

That wasn't the end of it as we all didn't get there till going on for 9 because of "a passenger incident" at Colliers Wood. I told you Sarf Lunnon was dangerous . . . Lynne said this was caused by Pat having to tune up on the tube but it wasn't true as she had to tune again at the new temporary venue (all credit to Dave & Doreen for finding a new pub at two days' notice).

After all this, it all came together brilliantly. Lynne and Pat were in excellent voice and full of wit as usual. What they sing is your life unfolding before your eyes: odd socks, ageing, charity shopping and the supermarkets' revenge of the nuclear family against the rest of us. And a jolly fine arrangement of The Wife Of Usher's Well.

Long live Court Sessions and good thoughts for the Man of the East in finding a new, permanent venue.

So sorry we didn't make it!! Got involved in pub crawling around Smithfield & before we realised it the time had flown. Know you'll all have had a Fab evening with Lynne & Pat, we'll try to get along another time.

It will be good to see you, Dave & Julia, and any others who are close enough to Leicester.

Those who are near GJ's Bar should go and see Lynne and Pat, especially if there are any of you who somehow have missed seeing Lynne and Pat - what a night you'll have.

Cheers

Keith

Yes, we've just heard about the change of venue as well. Oh dear. If anyone sees a couple of middle-aged women looking dazed and distressed in the vicinty, please help us.

Lynne

Thanks Diane for the info!

I've just had the following message from the organisers:

Please note that, due to the Selkirk double booking the room, we will be at a different venue - not too far away. It's GJ's Bar, 62 The High Street, Colliers Wood, SW19 2BY. We'll be in the back room. The nearest station is Colliers Wood on the Northern Line and a 57 bus stops by the venue.

Frantically Multimapping.... If we don't get along, have a Fab evening!!

Best of luck with the gig, both.

By coincidence, your "ex-sidekick", Keith is on at the Barley Mow in Leicester on the very same night, so we're going along to see him and doing a wee floorspot hopefully.

Dave and Julia.

I gather The Selkirk is one of the best pubs in Tooting.
If we can make it on Gurus Birthday I expect a big smack if Lynne does the older womans song! :>)
It should be a great evening.

Great new room, lovely comfy sofas, not that Keith and I got a chance to sit on them when we were there a couple of weeks ago - when we had a wonderful time - thanks to the warm atmosphere of the club.

Have a good one, Lynne & Pat - not that I doubt for one minute you won't.

Cheers

Sylvia

Last time I went, which strangely enough, was for Lynne's occasional sidekick Keith Kendrick, it was quite late - around 8.30. Which was just as well for North London people venturing into remote and dangerous territories.

Happily, this venue isn't far from Tooting Broadway tube and the room is lovely. Not that this matters for an act as class as this.
