My BANJOS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH song has been playing on a few broadcast and number of webcasting radio shows. This link goes to a Youtube video of the song.

I didn't make this song available to the whole world, but I aimed it at a few likely targets - one of which was Soundclick - and I was very fortunate with Soundclick, making their top tracks played list. Here are today's rankings:


SOUNDCLICK CHART RATINGS (as of Dec 8, 2008)
    44 in Country (highest position was 44). Total songs: 40,422
    7 in Bluegrass (highest position was 6). Total songs: 2,248

I was listed in the Folk/Bluegrass category. I am not sure how I got listed in the Country list, but I am happy for the change.

I hope you don't mind the "self promotion" of this note. I know I have a few MC friends who'll be interested in this news.

sure there's not much to it ... I play the banjo part out of a modal tuning (I think it's a standard G tuning with the B tuned up to C).

I LOVE THIS SONG!! Have been singing it for weeks now and my grandson loves it and my sisters love it and WHY wasn't it on PHC's Christmas show!? They should have been singing it to the rafters and beyond!

I'm so glad you did. I missed it last year so this is brand new to me. The video is is very nice also. Not only did I love the baby, I particularly loved the painting of the banjo shining in the sky like the Star of Bethlehem.

Hmmm; I stopped by last evening to say how much I enjoyed it, but my post disappeared somewhere. I got my wife to watch it, particularly since I knew she would love the little dude with the banjo, as did I.

No. The little banjo picker is a photo I found on the web. Uncredited, unnoted ... so I don't know anything about it, but I loved the pic!
