Excellent service from Fellside has always been my experience. I have also found that whether the work itself turns out to be to my taste or not, the recording will be spot on. They make good records.

The biggest surprise (to me) in the opening post is that the mail seems to have done quite well too, given the time of year.

I have recorded for both labels and I support all the comments on here about their value. They are great value to their customers, for their catalogues of excellent music, to artistes for their consideration, respect, splendid recording technique, fair dealing and warm welcome, and to folk music in general for their devotion to it that goes well beyond the call of duty. Long life and success to both of them. Burl

Yes, I've had excellent service from Fellside as well. I'm thinking of ordering that double Bert Lloyd CD - but perhaps after Xmas when my wallet has recovered a bit!

Haven't had any personal dealings with Fellside, but I can echo Dave and Ralphie about Doug at Wildgoose... I had a problem with a CD that one of his artists had sold me at a gig. We both emailed and spoke on the phone, and he sent me a replacement copy of the CD by return through the post ... all done on trust, and no requirement to see the faulty original. As has been said - you wouldn't get that from EMI would you. Thanks Doug!!!

Fellside has always been a jewel in the crown of folk. Or music for that matter. They have a brilliant jazz label as well. Keep up the good work.Ralphie is spot on: they are enthusiasts. The real deal.

Couldn't agree more. Both Paul (Fellside) and Doug (Wildgoose) are excellent in the service dept.
Probably because they are first and foremost enthusiasts, Although the two labels are businesses, it's their love and commitment to their artists that shines through.

I hope Paul doesn't mind me telling this story.

I needed a copy of a particular song that Fellside held the masters to for a radio show (about Bert lloyd as it happens)and I wrote to Paul asking if he had any old copies left in a cellar somewhere.

He sent me a copy of the master!

I suspect you don't get that sort of service from EMI!

I think Fellside (and Wildgoose) should be applauded for the wonderful service they give to the world of folk.

I went On Line to Fellside's site and bought two copies of the A L Lloyd Double CD , one for me amd one for Mrs Morse who was comong over from Maine . Friday week I E mailed asking for a delivery date , and received , almost immediately , a reply that they had been dispatched . It was suggested that I hang fire til the end of the week , but as nothing was here , I E Mailed again on Friday afternoon . Amost by return , I was told two copies would be in the pist on Saturday . They arrived today as did Mrs Morse , so I can pass her copy on tomorrow . EXCELLENT service from Fellside . Many thanks .
