THE PRESS RELEASE

Sally's Winter Warmer
Herefordshire resident and "Bishops Castle Folk Weekend" organiser Sally Stamford aka "The Lemonade Lady" has got an idea that's going to warm you up this winter without burning a hole in your wallet.
From Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th January 2009 Sally's hosting a musical event for all ages at The Salwey Arms Hotel, Wooferton near Ludlow, Shropshire.
"We're going to get the event off to a lively start on the Friday night with "Cut The Mustard" ceilidh band in the function room." Sally says. "On the Saturday and Sunday we've got "singaround" events and acoustic music sessions. I'm hoping that everyone's going to come... and not just the folkies either. I want to encourage people of all ages and abilities to sing and play and to shake off the winter blues!"
The Salwey Arms Hotel, a traditional Inn on the Herefordshire/Shropshire border (A49) offers a warm welcome from Mike, the landlord together with home cooked food, first rate service and excellent and reasonably priced accommodation. You can also book free parking facilities for motor homes and caravans. (phone Mike on 01584 711203).
Tickets for the Friday night Ceilidh which starts at 8.00pm are £5.00 and concessions apply. You can contact Sally for further information by Email at sally.stamford@hotmail.co.uk or alternatively call her on 01568 770821.

Some bright spark suggested we all meet up at 10am and go for a walk to another pub for breakfast, singing all the way. hmmm I wonder if anyone will?

It'd be good if you can make The Salwey Arms Weekend (this wkend).Friday's ceilidh was brill with the sesh in the bar. Yesterday was amazing. People from all over uk popped in and out but the core group sang from midday to half past mid night. The night before they had sung from mid day to 1.30am! The pub was heaving and the landlord ran out of beer. It was abslutely amazing and a lot of very happy people! Back in again today till 3.30pm. I will blog it but must recover first!

Ah yes, there's nothing quite like a dame type of weekend!

We left the Salwey Arms around 10am this morning (Sunday), arriving home in Manchester about 12.30.

What a smashing do. We started singing & playing about 8pm on Friday....and apart from a few breaks to get some sleep and eat some food we didn't seem to stop until the early hours of Sunday morning!

Thanks to everyone for making the event so successful - especially Sal for putting it together and making it happen, I'll be at the next one!

What a lovely weekend - A great venue with potential to develop a bit more, but still keep the intimate approach Sal as this is what made it work. Please ask the landlord if he can extend his opening hours to Friday afternoon and to include breakfast? Also perhaps more choice of Ales?

Well done and I am sure the next one will be well supported. Hope we can make it!

So now I have a problem...15th - 17th clashes with the Stratford Beer Festival and Wheaton Aston folk fest. Now usually i wouldn't let that bother me but The Shellbacks and singing at WAFF and 2 AllanWW and Snuffy are at Stratford.

I need dates, can anyone tell me if 8th - 10th Would be ok?
