Today I visited a used record store in West Los Angeles, and got some really cool records for cheap.

1 - Mary O'Hara at Royal Festival Hall rec. 1977; still unsealed. I know there has been a M O'H thread here from time to time

2 - Music of the Ozarks, recordings of locals; introductory essay by Jimmy Driftwood. Good stuff.

3 - Hershel Bernardi about 1960/1 story telling and singing about Yiddish Culture.

4 - Carolyn Hester from about 1963. She might have been the American Mary O'. About a year ago she closed her folk dance center here in LA.

Happy Chanukah to me.

What's that dear? Yes, I bought some records today. Don't I have enough records? I guess not...I didn't have these.

I can vouch for the Music of the Ozarks LP. Everyone should have one but National Geographic only made so many. I have to admit to being a bit prejudiced, however. Almost all the folk on that album were friends of mine and the ones still living are still friends. I even managed to sneak onto the album with one track. But the best thing about the album is that a young lady received a copy as a present after graduating from college in California. She decided to visit the Ozarks before settling down in a career in California. We have been married 34 years now.

The others LPs sound like a good addition also. John, congratulations on your taste in music.

Are we talking real records here? Made with vinyl? I think the last one i found was the Eric Von Schmidt and Geoff Muldaur LP that the local records store owner found for me since he knows I'm looking for old Muldaur stuff. He had also found Sleepy Man Blues by Muldaur. Great stuff.

Do I have too many records? I have a little over 2,000 of them. But since I have enough room it's not too many.
