Subject: Lyr Req: Boo Ga Do
From: GUEST,c5nest

My parrot sings a nonsense song with the following chorus:

Boo ga do
Do do do... (endless loop)

I've been told that this might be the chorus to an actual children's nonsense song. I am researching this for an animation class project.

Sometimes he adds another line that begins:

K-plaza (?) boo ga do

I tried Googling various permutations of the phrases, but nothing came up.

Thanks if you can help with this strange question.

I don't know the song, but "K-plaza" reminds me of the Spanish phrase "¿Qué pasa?" which means "What's happening?"

Also, "Bo-Ga-Do" sounds a lot like "Boogaloo". So maybe that's what your parrot is singing, adding the ending Do Do Do sounds to give the word Boogaloo more rhythmic flavor.

That's my guess and I'm stickin by it {though not "to" it}.

Well, "me-ow" is cat for "boogaloo", so that means my theory is correct.

:o}

"Boogaloo" is a musical genre rather than a specific song, correct?

"¿Qué pasa?" does seem a good match for "K-plaza". I have always regretted taking French instead of Spanish.

Well, this is a start...

Perhaps I'll be able to find a musician to compose and record a short (invented) song for the soundtrack. If contacts at school fail, there's always the local Craigslist.

Thanks for responding.
