Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: Big Al Whittle Date: 14 Dec 08 - 08:36 PM Due to the fact that I'm a bit of a nobhead - I've owned most of equipment we'vetouched on. My personal set up at the moment is a fender acoustasonic combo for guitar and a yamaha 300 stage pass PA. But you really need to go out and see people - see people who do something like what you want to do- ask questions - most guitarist/ singers are very happy to pass on their expertise. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: Zen Date: 14 Dec 08 - 07:43 PM I have both a 300W mini PA (Yamaha StagePAS 300) and a 100W acoustic guitar amp that takes both guitar and microphone inputs (Ashdown Engineering Acoustic Radiator 1) and can fully recommend either depending on your needs. The AER acoustic amps are also superb but a bit pricey. Zen |
Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: Big Al Whittle Date: 14 Dec 08 - 06:20 PM Take my word for it, it depends on what guitar, what style you play, and where you're intending playing I think a small PA system sounds like what you need - Fender Passport or Yamaha Stagepass. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 08 - 05:53 PM Heavy for me, not so heavy for manly Hardi. Crates oughtta have wheels, is what I think, and a tow strap. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 08 - 05:38 PM Crate, have two from two different era, both great. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: Escapee Date: 14 Dec 08 - 05:34 PM I have a small Crate I like, and Fender has a nice small one. They both weigh about 50 pounds. It seems like a ton, they don't look big enough to be that heavy. For a small gig they're better than hauling a PA. |

Subject: Tech: Acoustic Amp From: Deskjet Date: 14 Dec 08 - 04:13 PM Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a high-end all-in-one acoustic amp. Looking simply at vocal and guitar using external mike for guitar - no direct input. |
