Subject: Lyr Add: I'LL BE NO STRANGER THERE (Caudill Family
From: Bob the Postman
Date: 14 Dec 08 - 05:01 PM

I came across this song on The Roots Music Listening Room (scroll down, it's fifth from the bottom) and couldn't google up the words, so I have made this transcription. The words enclosed in parentheses are those of the counterpoint harmony part. I don't think I have the bit about "youthsome friends of olden time are near" quite right, so I hope some sage catter will tell me how it oughta go. Plus also, does anyone know who wrote the song?

I'LL BE NO STRANGER THERE as recorded by The Caudill Family

I know I'll be no stranger yonder in that holy city fair
I know I'll be (I'll yonder be) no stranger there (no stranger there)
I'll see my Jesus and my loved ones and my friends will all be there
I'll be no stranger (praise the Lord) when I get there (when I get there)

Chorus:I'll be no stranger on heaven's shore
(Be no stranger there, on that golden shore)
We'll know each other as on earth before
(Know each other there, as on earth before)
You'll see me strolling those streets of gold
(Strolling down those streets, streets of shining gold)
Down by the river with the saints of old
(By the river fair, with the saints of old)

When all the sainted millions gather in that holy city fair
I know I'll be (I'll yonder be) no stranger there (no stranger there)
I'll say hello to you and youthsome friends of olden time are near
I'll be no stranger (praise the Lord) when I get there (when I get there)

I can see my dear old daddy in that holy city fair
I know I'll be (I'll yonder be) no stranger there (no stranger there)
I'll live up there with him forever and all heaven's glory share
I'll be no stranger (praise the Lord) when I get there (when I get there)
