I haven't seen outrage in the tabloids so I wonder if I misheard last saturday our own Brucie swearing on Strictly Come Dancing.
He was in a sketch with a professional dancer teaching him the Argentinian Tango.

She pushed her knee between his legs and he was supposed to shout "OH" or something but instead he shouted "FAAAAK" or something like it, in his London accent.

Resignations? Suspensions? Not a word.

We the great British public, are still undecided as to whether we should be rightfully OUTRAGED(!!!) and whether or not we're allowed to start a lynching campaign, because the editor of the Daily Mail hasn't said "Go get 'em boy!" yet. So at present we're still happily wagging and drooling while waiting expectantly for tidbits from masters hand. And we hear that there's gonna be a "scratch and sniff" wedding in "Hello" magazine shortly, which will pleasantly sedate us.

our own Brucie

In the US, "our own Brucie" is Mudcatter Peace, formerly known as brucie, AKA Bruce Murdoch.

:~)

And why should I care if some woman kneed him in the jewels on TV? Maybe he deserved it.

LOL, him too (Springsteen), but is he a Brucie? Fun to imagine each of them in this situation.

Then, there was (and still is, I suppose ~ he ain't dead yet, to my knowledge) New York DJ Bruce "Cousin Brucie" Morrow, untiring promotor of the Beatles in the NY metro area back in the mid-60s.

Cousin Brucie's motto: "You can choose your friends, but never your relatives."

(When I saw this thread title, my first thought was of our buddy Mr Murdoch. I see I'm not the only one.)

Bill, you may have misheard. I don't know. I saw the programme and that scene, and I didn't register it as you did. Even if Brucie (Bruce Forsythe) "shouted "FAAAAK" or something like it", then I don't think an expletive shouted in genuine shock and perhaps a little pain (that's how it looked to me) is in the same league, planet or universe as telling someone's grandfather you slept with his grandaughter and then broadcasting it on national radio, if that is your implied meaning.

So "Resignations? Suspensions? Not a word." No. Of course not.

I think it was Murdoch, having a hot dancer between his legs is not an uncommon event for our Bruce :-)

I think it was a very mild exclamation (not sure it was "...faaack" or similar) given said kick up the orchestras. Amusing nontheless.

In which case the exclamation would have been an invitation, or a start-cue?

I believe the posters above may be referring to Bruce Forsyth, an ageing, English entertainer of sorts. It would be helpful if some of our overseas posters would remember that this isn't an exclusively British forum.

Yup, our Brucie is 80 years old, or over, and still tap dancing like a kid. He's been entertaining me all my life and now he entertains my kids, when they watch Strictly Come Dancing. He's still funny, albeit in a 'hammy' kind of way, bless him, as you always know what's coming, but he has that gift of always laughing with people, never at them.

He's a very happy soul and many years back married a beautiful Indian doctor, Wilnelia Merced, who was Miss World, shortly before they married. She was much younger than Bruce. They're still married all these years later and they have a son. Bruce has quite a few daughters, 5 I think, all very grown up now, by his previous two marriages.

A bit of BBC brucie history

He sure doesn't sing as well as 'your' Bruce though, or write songs like him, but then few do.

However, they both have something in common, despite their names, in that both have a rich and natural talent which has a power to reach many others.

Both should be treasured.

Bruce Forsyth has charisma.

I agree entirely with Guest Ian.

What those 2 gits did was disgusting and not acceptable.

Bruce is one of the old brigade and a gentleman.

How dare you compare him with sluts like Brand and Woss. They are not fit to piss in his boots.

Rant over, where is my urinal

Forsyth is a classy gent and a supreme talent on the dancefloor and at the Piano.

He is so generous and warm in spirit that seeing him get lumped in the goolies and swearing would elicit nothing but sympathy from me.

I don't see what this has to do with any other celebs.

From Rappy: "Who's Bruce Murdoch?" LOL

Well, I've just finished watching the programme on BBCi, it was the semi-final of Strictly, which is still on there, (I missed it this weekend.) He didn't shout it out, it was all part of the 'game' and he just went "Faaaaaaaaaaaaa..." in a humourous way.

Bruce is a family entertainer, and he'd never go over the top with anything. He's passionate about family entertainment, always has been and he's the last of our great entertainers in the mould of Morecambe and Wise, Dick Emery, Dave Allen..a man who can laugh at himself and make others laugh.

I wish they'd bring The Generation Game back, with Bruce. No-one was able to compere it like he did, and it was a funny, innocent programme that so many of us loved.

The Villan, lox, Lizzie, thank you for your support and for getting to the point of the post. Interesting that we haven't heard from Bill the Collie, the original poster, since the original post. I wonder if he is a disgruntled Ross/Brand fan who thinks anything goes in comedy, however offensive to some, and was trying to making a (very weak and pointless, misguided, wrong-headed) point? Or is this just an attempt at trolling? In either case, I am glad, looking at the responses, that he failed.

Gooodnite all.

Ian

In our house, we sky+ ed the show so were able to replay it over a few times. The faaaak was loud and clear.

But I still don't have to believe it even if it is true!
