I went to AOL Netfind and typed "The French Girl" into the search engine and it pulled up words and chords. I would guess any search engine would do as well.

Ah, Don, I'm pretty good at searching, but couldn't find it. Can you post the lyrics for us?
I did find a of good Ian Tyson site -click here- but it doesn't have this song.

THE FRENCH GIRL (Ian Tyson & Sylvia Fricker, 1966)

Three silver rings on slim hands waving
Flash bright in candlelight till Sunday's early morn.
We found her room that rainy morning
She took my hand through winding roads and led me home.
Some red French wine when later waking
In her warm hideaway she smiled and combed her hair
We talked of all, we talked of nothing
I left with promises to meet, she told me where.

Ah she laughed each time I asked her name
Vague promises to meet again
But her friends down at the French cafe
Had no English words for me.

So you may find above the border
A girl with silver rings, I never knew her name.
You're bound to lose, she's too much for you;
She'll leave you lost some rainy morn
You won't be the same, you won't be the same.

recorded by Ian & Sylvia, "Play One More" (Vanguard)

I followed Don's advice (more or less) and found it here: http://www.superior.net/~jimligon/lyrics/Folk/Gene_Clark/The_French_Girl.txt
