Did anyone else catch this? He was reviewing the news - and he performed a song attributed to Richard Coeur de Lion. A lot of good plugs there for folk music. Almost made up for the anti-morris dancing jibes on the otherwise excellent The Now Show.

Yes, I did. I was so surprised, but pleased, to say the least.

Just listened to the show on BBC iPlayer. Bit disappointing really. Seems like a nice bloke but very shy - the stammer got a bit wearing after a while. Not his fault but some people aren't natural radio performers. Didn't help that he was paired with an actor and a broadcaster who were much more at ease speaking off-the-cuff into a microphone.
