Just a quick pre Xmas holidays message to inform of a new acoustic night I am involved in near Bradford. The Raggalds Inn near Queensbury will be featuring free informal concerts with artists including Roger Davies, Duncan McFarlane, Gerry McNeice, Gilmore/Roberts and Edwina Hayes starting on Friday nights from 9th January. Its a trial season so we hope to get as many people in as possible to persuade the landlord its a good idea!

Thanks Dave - I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Katriona & Jamie. I've heard Jamie with Kerfuffle and he is tremendous. Only heard Katriona on the website with Jamie but I'm absolutely confident this will be a great night. We will be giving more information about Raggalds Acoustic and the Queensbury Music Festival (7/8 March)on Radio Leeds Durbervilles programme on 9th January. Roger Davies will be coming into the studio so I hope people in the area will listen out for that, particularly anyone who hasn't heard Roger before.

Oi Joe, they advertised the Raggalds Folk Session in my local paper so I went last Wednesday, the pub wasn't even open, what gives ?

I believe there was an intention to start running session nights on Wednesday (not something I am involved in) though I do not know why the pub was closed this Wednesday. Suggest you check with the pub direct about the Wednesday nights.

I've just briefly spoken to the landlord and everything is fine for the Raggalds Acoustic sessions.

Raggytash, it's been advertised for WEDNESDAYS in the Halifax Courier for several weeks, so the first time I went was last week and as I said the pub was CLOSED.

Raggalds Inn near Bradford? I used to live near the Raggalds Inn and always believed I was in Halifax! The folk sessions used to be in the Bradshaw Tavern or the Ivy House when I lived up there. Unfortunately I'm now on the south coast otherwise would have loved to attend - I've always liked the Raggalds and they used to have a good restaurant run by an Eastern European couple. My mom still lives near the Raggalds so I'll try to time my next family visit for a folk night - be nice to meet a few 'catters up there.

I believe the Raggalds is just within Brdford but you are right it is nearer Halifax - be good to see you if you get up this way one Friday. I'm also involved in a festival at Queensbury on 7th/8th of March so that should also be a good time to visit to see the likes of John Tams & Barry Coope, CBS, Tom Bliss & Tom Napper, Skyhook and loads of others
