A Guest asked me about this song after I quoted a verse on a thread several years ago. The song has special significance for someone. Here's what I know from memory and from searching Google.

Title: Barefoot Boy
Australian pop song from the 60s. It was written by a teenage girl.
Sung by Noelene Batley (Little Miss Sweetheart) as her one big hit.
I can't find the lyrics but there are a few sites offering a CD for sale -- including the University of Queensland. Our Guest may have found a copy by now, with the information I gave, but we all enjoy a challenge. Does anyone remember the words/have the 45?

The first verse is something like:

Barefoot Boy standing (? waiting ?sitting) by the roadside
Barefoot Boy when you say hello
With eyes that shine and lips that bring forth laughter
Barefoot Boy I love you so.

Can anyone help, please? Note that it's not the Eugene Field poem.
