Subject: RE: Chord Req: Explostion in the Fairmont Mine From: Peace Date: 31 Dec 08 - 11:28 PM G]One bright morning, the miner [C]just about to leave, Heard his {G}dear child screaming in all [D]fright. He [G]went to her bed, then she [C]looked up and said: "I have [G]had such a [D]dream, turn on the [G]light." CHORUS: [Em]"Daddy, please don't go down in that hole today, For my [A]dreams do come true some time, you [D]know. Oh, [G]don't leave me, daddy, please [C]don't go away, Something [G]bad sure will [D]happen, do not [G]go." That is what I hear on the following YOUTUBE take of the song. |
Subject: Chord Req: Explostion in the Fairmont Mine From: banjocircus Date: 31 Dec 08 - 10:27 PM I'm just learning guitar, and trying to pick out chords by ear is a challenge. I really like "Explosion in the Fairmont Mine." I put the words below along with what I think the chords are (in the key of G). I only wrote the chords in the first verse and chorus. If you know this song, can you check the 1st vs and chorus? I appreciate your help and also helping me to learn. Thanks, Jonathan [G]One bright morning, the miner [C]just about to [G]leave, Heard his dear child screaming in all [D]fright. He [G]went to her bed, then she [C]looked up and said: "I have [G]had such a [D]dream, turn on the [G]light." CHORUS: [Em]"Daddy, please don't go down in that hole today, For my [G]dreams do come [C]true some time, you [D]know. Oh, [G]don't leave me, daddy, please [C]don't go away, Something [G]bad sure will [D]happen, do not [G]go." "Oh, I dreamed that the mines were burning out with fire, Every man was fighting for his life. And some had companions and they prayed out loud, 'Oh God, please protect my darling wife,'" Then her daddy bent down and kissed her dear sweet face, Turned again to travel on his way, But she threw her small arms around her daddy's neck, She kissed him again, and he heard her say: Then the miner was touched, and said he would not go; "Hush, my child, I'm with you, do not cry." There came an explosion and two-hundred men Were shut in the mines and left to die |
