Subject: Robert Burns : BBC Scotland Jan 2009 From: Ian Hendrie Date: 01 Jan 09 - 12:04 PM As someone with Scottish ancestors living in England I recorded the BBC Scotland New Year Celebrations (thank you SKY) and am now enjoying a 'live' performance of Eddi Reader singing songs of Robert Burns (brilliant!). The 'adverts' informed me of a series of programmes being broadcast in January to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth. The first is on January 5th at 20:00 on BBC 2 Scotland. I will certainly be setting my SKY set-top box. Click here for more info. BBC Scotland certainly seems more 'folk-music friendly' than its English version and I am sure I will have missed some things I would have liked to see. Is there a Scottish mudcatter who could warn us of future folky delights? Ian |
