Happy New Year to all Sound Lantern members!

Hi there guys,

Now that 2008 has come to a close, we would like to pause to say a really big thank you to all you guys for coming on Sound Lantern, liking the concept and creating your accounts. When we created SoundLantern we didn't know if people would use a site like this: a site where users can listen to, upload and share audio content. It turns out that, since we launched the site we have not received one complaint about the concept we are trying to build - in fact people love the site (even if it is still pretty basic). We have from time to time received a few complaints on the technical side. Nobody's perfect. But we are working on making everything work smoothly on SoundLantern! We want no bugs!

On that note, we would like to ask if any of you really feel a passion for what we are trying to build here: "A YouTube for Audio", an "Audio-sharing community" and if any of you would like to help us get there.

Are you or do you know any talented passionate developers? Do you know HTML or java script or have database skills etc... If you do, we'd definitely like to hear from you. You can contact us here and let us know what you're really good at or give us some examples of your work. If we think you're talented and passionate enough we might be able to work together!

Great speaking to you, hope you are enjoying Sound Lantern. Keep uploading, commenting on audios, rating audios, favoriting audios - and above all share audios you like with friends and family by simply entering their email addresses and pressing "Send". Your friend will receive an email with the audio attached in it. Don't forget to check on the Request Tab regularly as well to see if you can help anyone out. Sound Lantern is a community effort!

Finally Sound Lantern as you know is still totally free! But believe it or not we have to pay to host all the great audios you are posting on the site. So in order to keep going we need to grow much faster to prove to our backers that is a worthwhile venture. Therefore please support Sound Lantern by sending an email to all your email contacts letting them know about our audio-community and suggesting they check it out. Contact any budding musicians or sound effects people you know and encourage them to join.

Thanks and keep playing it by ear!

Happy New Year Guys! :-)

Basil and The Sound Lantern Team: Rufus, Tony and Johnny.
