Subject: RE: Moor & Coast Festival to End after 2009 From: Rasener Date: 10 Jan 09 - 02:47 PM Glen Its a great shame, but a man has to do what a man has to do. I have always thought that the Moor & Coast Festival was one of the best. You and the rest of the committee and helpers have worked bloody hard and I don't think anybody can thank you enough for what you have all done. Thank you also for being so kind to my family and I over the few years that we have been up there. That has never been forgotten. I hope that the 2009 festival is a great success. Best Wishes Les Worrall |

Still sobbing quietly that you didn't have room for us after all - but hope you have a grand time anyway - that's a great line up. I've always really enjoyed the fest and thanks for all your support over the years, specially for having The Piper Sons. T |
Subject: Moor & Coast Festival to End after 2009 From: GUEST,M&C Date: 10 Jan 09 - 08:54 AM The festival committee have made the decision to make the 2009 Moor & Coast Festival the final one. There are a number of reasons for this, but the main one is the increasing workload placed on the active members of the committee becoming to great. With ever increasing financial, administrative, logistical and bureaucratic pressure being placed on the small group organising the festival, we feel it's time to call it a day. The first festival was held, in part, to celebrate the arrival of the replica of Captain Cook's ship "The Endeavour" to Whitby in 1997. Since then the festival has been very successful being held on the 1st May Bank Holiday weekend each year. 2009 will be the 13th Moor & Coast Festival to be held in Whitby. The final Moor & Coast Festival will be from 1st to 3rd May 2009. We have a great line up, inviting some of our friends who have appeared at past festivals. They include Vin Garbutt, Jez Lowe and Kate Bramley, Elbow Jane, Tom McConville, Something Nasty in the Woodshed, George Welch, Anthony John Clarke, Ember, Dan McKinnon, The Young'uns, Workshy Profits, Copper Kettle and many others… Details can be found on our website which will be updated very soon… http://www.moorandcoast.co.uk/ |
