What a shame. I guess there's a tendency to forget that there is often an extra member of a band when they have a long term soundman - or even lighting person. He's added to a great many pleasurable concerts.

Considered the "sixth" member of Fairport Convention the last 10 plus years or so, Rob Braviner has passed away after a long illness, it was announced on Fairport's website. If you have seen FC anytime recently, Rob was probably at the sound desk, and has also played some guitar and produced or co-produced recent Fairport albums. Very sad. I said hi to him once-he seemed surprised anyone would do so at an American gig! RIP Rob.
